Cheaping out on a helmet makes zero sense. Buy a cheap helmet if you have a cheap head. Arai is the top of the heap in the motorcycle racing world. We would routinely hit our heads on the pavement and get up while wearing them. I would suspect they make an OK helmet for your purposes.
