For anyone who purchased a super stock, last year when I went, they said you could trade the SRT experience in for 500 dollars off of the demon drag racing class. I ended up not doing it and had a blast anyone. So much fun in fact, that I am going back this year to take the drag racing class.

If anybody goes grab some VIN's off the cars, we've got some Demon VIN's and they were all pilot cars.

Not relevant to Demons or Dodges or Radford at all, but I used to own 1996 Corvette Collectors Edition VIN SN 00003. I got a copy of the build sheet and confirmed that it was a PILOT car that made it out to retail sale somehow. It was shipped to the group that did photography for Chevy and was almost certainly the silver CE coupe LT4 shown in that year's printed brochure.

Good catch, those CE's were nice looking cars. I was at a big Corvette show and they had a 70 conv that was 00004 and a 65 coupe that was 00001 and think they said that was the only time a 001 Vette was ever sold to the public, but that was years ago and haven't kept up.

I took my 87 year old Father up to the car Museum in Nocona Texas today.
Sublime Challenger Hellcat front and center with the Museum Owners picture. He passed away last August. Great Corvette Collection and some very nice Dodges!
Very clean and in and the old downtown 60s to 70s feeling.

I have booked the 2-Day Performance Driving Class the weekend of March 4/5. Looking for a place to stay. Don't want to spend too much or stay in a crappy place.

I'm not too familiar with the area, but I'm looking at the Harrah's Ak-Chin Hotel/Casino about 18 miles down Highway 347. By miles, should be no big deal with a rental car. But if the road sucks or something, it might be too far away. It is about $160 a night vs $255 a night for the hotel/casino suggested by the school.

Unfortunately hotels aren't terribly cheap for your weekend... whether that will change or not is anyone's guess. I had looked at Harrah's as well, but it is too far for me.

The is the road most of the way between that casino and Radford:

I did the 2 day HPDS in Oct 22 (upgraded my SRT track experience to the 2 day HPDS) and stayed at the Hilton Double Tree in Chandler. There was also a Hampton Inn across the street. Think it was about 140 a night. The hotel was about 10 minutes from Radford and there plenty of restaurants around the hotels….Rudy’s BBQ was my favorite.

if you have a helmet, take it with you. you have to have your own helmet or buy one from them for any of the multi day courses. I thought I could borrow one if theirs but ended up spending 200 bucks to buy one from them.

the course was a blast!

The weekend of my class must be a pretty busy time. Most of the decent modest hotels in Chandler are running $200-260 a night plus taxes. And I HATE the current trend where most hotels either require non-refundable immediate payment, or have a higher nightly fee for "refundable" bookings.

Radford does require a helmet and they will rent one for $25 a day, or sell one for $185. I don't know if that is a good helmet for a good price or a cheap one for high price or whatever else. If I buy one, then I have to get it home (but then will have it for other track uses like with a local club). Renting is...well...using someone else's clothes. Kinda yuk. Not sure yet how I'll do that.

On the helmets if you bring one, some tracks don't allow motorcycle helmets, not sure about Radford but might be worth a check.

They didn’t give me an option to rent. Was told as we were heading to the track that I needed one. I asked to borrow one and was told they don’t give them out for the multi day courses. I had to run back into the store and buy a helmet.
Kind of sucked as you only wear it for about 60-90 minutes total between the two days….only needed when we were driving the main track.
Then I had to run to Walmart later and buy a duffle bag to get it home.

Hey Rob I stayed at the Gila river resort & casino when i attended the srt track experience school. Its located within like a block or two to radford racing school. Took us literally 3 minutes to drive there from the hotel. I was there back in November and the price was around $160 per night. Highly recommend it. All this talk has me thinking of doing the two day school now!

I would kind of like to stay there, but for my time the Radford rate is $255 per night.
