Getting ready to order. I've never had a passenger in my '17 HC's rear seat... so thinking about the delete option (IMO it looks more bas ass, anyway.
Any cons or regrets? Resale issues perhaps?

I wouldn't order it with the rear seat delete because I feel it could hurt resale value and limit potential buyers. Far better to order the kit from the dealer for the 450 or so and install it yourself. It would cost you alot more if later on you decided to add a rear seat, seat belts, etc. The install took me about 3-4 hours. Not at all bad.

I believe with the rear seat delete, the car is also classified as just a 2-seater. This seriously complicates things because

A. insurance wise it still only recognized as a 2-seater even if you put in the rear seat and seatbelts, (so don't ever get into a wreck with passengers in the back). I think the sticker on the door jam even says max occupancy 2 people.

B. Resale value

I'd just do the Rear Seat delete as a post sale kit. This way you'll be able to put it back to 4 seater no problem.

Get it with the seat and remove it if you want. Here's my take.
1. Re-sale is tougher with no rear seat.
2. Like was mentioned, technically illegal to ever install seats later due to the 2 seater status. Although if you installed seatbelts I'm pretty sure you'd be fine. Insurance though...they may or may not pick up on that after an accident. Why risk that?
3. Having the seat and removing it gives you the best of both worlds. Having options is nice.
4. Road noise is def more noticeable without the seat.
5. Why would you ever pay them $1 to keep your seat and belts?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there several differences in the look of a factory rear seat delete vs. a do-it-yourself delete?
I assume the factory delete has much more "finished" appearance.
Any side-by-side pictures?
Slight yes. But you can always order the OEM.

All of this. Plus

With the kit installed
6. rear visibility is better without the seat since you dont have the rear seat headrests in the way.
7. easier to clean the rear window.
8. More room back there
9. Subwoofers are louder
10 Exhaust is louder
11 No pass through for the trunk BUT the top piece is easy to remove if you want.

I left my seatbelts in. You cant really see them and I can put it back to stock in 10-15 min.
Back to delete in the same time.

I like the idea of adding it, but I agree, does anyone have pics of the OEM vs (and/or) the add-on?

Mine is a rear seat delete car.

Rear seats are basically useless in the Challenger IMHO, because I don't want to listen to whiny passengers back there anyway. 😜

No effect on insurance cost. I asked. Didn't matter.

+1 on looks AWESOME while saving 100 or so lbs.

I also like the cargo net for keeping stuff I want back there staying back there when the g forces reach the "big grin" stage. 😁

With the delete there’s the cackling fuel pump noise and the overly accentuated heel/toe of the 3:09 that may be an issue for some..I also think if you have a demonic red or sepia interior the delete should match as well but no dice! oh well..other then that I love it and don’t care about potential issues with resale value

I guess everyone has a different experience. I installed the delete kit last week. No difference in road noise or exhaust. Love the clean look.
Checked with insurance company, they don't care. Can always put back in for resale.
Did the lithium battery swap at the same time, can actually feel the difference in weight savings.
To each his own, but I love it!
Varooom
