Hello all! Have any of you noticed a rear end thump (like its bottoming out) on your durango with the Bilstein active dampening suspension? This happens to me at low speed over speed bumps. I have a Tow N Go, not a HC but same suspension.

Yep! That "may" be illegal now-a-days..........
I dont know, the tech at Autozone said that was what they had in the computer as a debug step.

But really, I think I read something about dealers using a "chassis mic". Serious. Unless that was a troll post I read that is like sending your sister in to buy windshield wiper oil filters ( did it, funny as hell. been paying for it for 2 years ).

Could always put it on jackstands, remove rear tire, and then slowly jack up on the suspension near the rotor. Look for bottoming out or interference. May also see some wear indications already there.

They’re called chassis ears, and they’re very helpful with diagnosing some of the more amorphous suspension/engine noises that plague modern cars. They’re already somewhat common at higher-end luxury dealers (Audi, Porsche, etc.), and some private shops that do import work have started buying them, too.

My kids school has a bunch of aggressive shaped speed bumps. The one thing I first realized I hated about my hellcat is how the suspension is really crappy over bumps. Going over the speed bumps at their school with auto mode engaged, you gotta go so damn slow or it’s real violent and bouncy. Feels like my neck will get whip lash. I don’t have any clunk sounds, I’ll listen for it tommorow
