They are definitely not salvageable. They are chipped. On a 2.4 off a trx. Heard there is tech bulletin on the 90 degree coolant fitting for the supercharger that is too small and causing excessive heat just for the trx's but I'm not feeling like that was part of my failure.Depending on how scuffed up they are they might be able to be recoated but if the aluminum is worn off any where their ruined most likely. What size SC, a 2.4 or 2.7?
Over heating of the rotors can definitely lead too them growing enough thermally to probably start rubbing but they would have to get pretty darn hot. They are definitely not salvageable. I agree 100% there was just 5k miles on it and as it's a daily driver it never really got beat on much at all, always monitoring Temps as well. No bearing noise at all, was cruising 60 mph n truck just shut off. Had bunch of codes and wouldn't not even crank when trying to restart it. Pulled the belts in the shop and blower locked up.Over heating of the rotors can definitely lead too them growing enough thermally to probably start rubbing but they would have to get pretty darn hot.
Put a magnuson on it, doesn't sound as cool, but picked up around 60 hp on same amount of boost.I have one with that same issue. Was told better off just replacing it. With that said I would gladly sell my old one for parts. I assume just one scuffed rotor by what I was told. Could possibly make one good one out of two?
Yes it got new tune on dynodid you retune, I have not got my Magnuson checked for proper tune yet?
