It was very unfortunate but my 2018 Hellcat charger has been deemed a total loss with that being said I am looking to rebuild the car the chassis is pretty damage so I will be looking at buying an older charger to strip just wondering what year charger would be the best for that would it have to be a 2015? or do the older chargers have the same bolt patterns and such on the chassis? This is going to be a really big project for me and any insight or tips would be greatly appreciated

My advice is don't. You'll be money ahead getting rid of the total loss car and taking that money and the fortune you would spend to resurrect the car and just buying a good used example.

If you want to go ahead my advice is to try to get a parts car the same MY as your car. The same MY or a car in the same basic model run. For instance a 2015 to 2017. IIRC Dodge did an update on the 2018 car. The closer you are to the same MY parts car the more likely parts will interchange.

Also, search YouTube for videos of Hellcats being rebuilt. There are several. Watch them all to get an idea of what you are facing.

PLUS, watch Roadkill Garage where in one episode they put Hellcat drivetrain AND electronics in a 1968 Charger. Then, a few seasons later they strip it all out. You should see all the wiring, sensors, etc. that were in that thing! Like above, it will be overwhelming to say the least.

Everything on my hellcat minus the chassis and pretty much all of the dash should be in good shape though I may have to do some engine repairs I think a donor hellcat is overkill. My plan is to buy the cheapest charger with the same chassis and strip it down to nothing and put everything working onto the car and replace what doesn’t

i found this video interesting, not sure if it helps you or applies to your case, but gives you a perspective.
Yeah I did watch that already I am watching all the videos I can at the moment.... Ive taken a deeper look at the car and it looks like I'll be replacing the radiator at the moment the damage is all front end on the right side with a little bit on the left passenger side the tire with the control arms got ripped off but it's looking promising

Two channels on youtube have done full HC builds:
  • DIY Gang - has rebuilt several HCs and a TH, one HC from bare metal up (fire damaged), if you can find his videos, he may have taken down his "phoenix" series.
  • Boosted Motor Sports - complete HC swap into a Dakota (dash and interior also)
Both of these channels will answer questions if you get stuck.

The video is only 19 minutes and 32 seconds. That's nothing, you could still getting it done today.
Ya, gotta watch the whole series, plus he's done a few others. does a good job explaining how it's done the first couple builds.
