Hey everyone, been waiting on my redeye order for a while now. Finally got a call from the dealership and told me my car was stolen off the train in my state. As far as I know, car isn’t too damaged other than scraped on the undercarriage pretty bad. Just wondering what you think would be a reasonable price to pay for a car that has been stolen/damaged?

For me, I'm not taking delivery unless it's at least 20% below invoice, it's a car I planned to keep a long time and the warranty is extended. Car is now branded and will be harder to sell down the road.

If it was me, they can get me a new car. I know it's under warranty but no telling what was done to the car and how it would effect the longevity of things. Sucks but these things are to expensive to have a story even before delivery.

This is sickening! You'd never feel the same about the car, especially if you were paying on a loan every month. Those poor cars have been violated in the worse way! Good luck with the outcome & keep us posted on what the end results are!

How is the car branded? Was it written off as a total loss? If the dealership fixes it in house, it probably won't even show up on Carfax.

There is no gentle way to get those cars off of the tracks. Chances are more damage happened getting the cars out of there than when the idiots tried to steal it. Don't make any decisions until you see the underside for yourself. If you keep it, take the discount and make sure there is no record of on the the cars history. If there is recorded damage, walk.

It would depend how heavily the car is discounted. As everyone else has said I'd still be hesitant to accept the car because who knows what damage you might find down the road.

How did they get them off the train? Seriously. Like did they Dukes of Hazard that shit or a fork lift or ramps? The damage may be way worse that a few scrapes.

I would need a serious vehicle inspection and an enormous discount to buy. And even then, I'm buying because the story in itself would make the car more interesting.
