I've been reading a few isolated posts on some "glitches" and build quality issues around the forum. I thought it might be worthwhile to start a thread so we can all share our experiences both good and not so good.
My fan comes on often and is quite loud. It came on idling in my driveway today after a cold start, block still cold. I think because of the AC.My hood and decklid need a slight adjustment, not a real priority as I have not done the adj yet.
Question for the RE owners: When I come home (after mild 35mph driving) and let it idle in the drive while I run into the house to deactivate the alarm on the detached garage, the aux fan comes on, then goes onto high even though it was less than 2min and 70deg. My M6 never did that. I don't think the aux fan has ever come on in the M6 even after 173mph runs.
Is this normal on the RE?
This has been the case in both Chargers I have owned, one being a 2016 RT and my current 2022 HC REWB. In my experience, it doesn’t matter if the car is warmed up or not as the car hangs the first shift of every key cycle regardless of temp. Seems a normal ZF 8 speed characteristic as I’ve seen it mentioned many many times and I’ve never had a transmission issue. My 22 Challenger HC RE hangs in 1st gear too long before abruptly shifting to 2nd when not sufficiently warmed up. This is with Trans in Sport mode. My 17 never did this. To combat it I wait until it's fully warmed up before I switch to my normal (Custom setting) Trans Sport mode. It's still not as smooth from 1st to 2nd as my 17 but much better.
Anyone else experience this?
Interesting, thank's for the info. This has been the case in both Chargers I have owned, one being a 2016 RT and my current 2022 HC REWB. Can be very jarring if you happen to be in sport or track mode though as it just magnifies the awkwardness of the shift. I tend to just give it some extra gas to help it push through the shift as quickly as possible since I know it’s coming. It’s always smooth as butter after that.
For sure with my 2021...replaced two times starting with less than 4000 miles on it!I've read about some problems with the fuel pump. Same problem in the model years before...
