This is why for me. I hand wash all my vehicles myself.

That's a hell no from me. But to each their own. I find the no-dealer-prep request bizarre. I told the dealership that I want it prep'd as if gawd himself was taking delivery.

Some PDI is necessary like taking them out of transport mode and so on. But just asking them not to pull off the plastics, window sticker and dont wash it is not a problem usually. I would request a real NO PDI if this car was going into a collection to never be driven. Museum style. But aside from that, there will be some basic PDI needed for retail units.

I always tells the dealer not to wash mine for a couple reasons. They don't have deionized water to rinse with, so water spots galore....plus its automated and has the guide rails to scratch up your wheels.

I wouldn't pass up the PDI though....let them mess something up so they pay for it. - Just make sure to tell them you don't want their special "paint sealant" which involves a 16 year old kid and a bottle of Simoniz wax....

Anyone else request no dealer prep and all plastic to be left on vehicle like me or am I only one? I told them I will remove when I get there. I
I wouldn't blame you but it reminded me of a long time ago I saw a fellow in town who had the black plastic bumpers on the door they put on to ship to cut down on paint getting chipped. I told him that it wasn't a trim piece and he said oh and took them off :)

I'm not in agreement with no PDI. Let them do it. You inspect it when you go to pick it up. The sale is not final until you actually take delivery. Most people dont know that and think theyre screwed if the dealer wont fix a mistake but you can cancel the entire purchase in most states right up until you take possession.

My detailing shop of choice is on the opposite side of the road from my dealer, so my car was rolled off the truck to them, for them to PDI as they got ready to ceramic coat it. It's cool to have the people doing paint correction and treating be the first to touch the car.

I requested no prep but this dealership has never trusted their own guys to wash any of my vehicles. I went over the vehicle at the dealership after they did the necessary PDI stuff to document anything I found. Fortunately mine was in real good shape all around after I got all the shipping plastic off and gave it a good bath.
