Road Course

3728 13
Took my car out to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Road Course training facility last week.

What a blast. This car is awesome!! I was told the track record is 53 seconds. I was running a consistant 55 seconds (i am not a professional driver, i just watch them on tv). Top speed was 109. I never felt any brake fade. The acceleration was phenomenal. This car is all that and a box of Cracker Jacks.

side note: had the car dyno'd 2 weeks ago. 625rwhp, 596 tq

Congrats! You do realize your car now has it's own "Wanted Poster" by every Oklahoma County Sheriff?...

And it really doesn't matter if you work for them or not!:p:D

The envy will be unbearable....

With the tires it has and the power on tap, it's very hard to every really lay it down on a road course. It's funny to watch someone like Randy Pobst at Willow Springs in the Charger. If you listen he's pretty much always feathering the throttle.

The lap starts at 5:15.

That's Streets of Willow, not the full size road course. Streets is a handful in a kart (as in go-kart) I wouldn't take a full size car there too tight and rough. Road America or Daytona is where the Hellcat belongs!

I race karts and I can appreciate that. The Hellcat needs longer straights and an overall less technical course.

Oh, heck no! Why are you letting some one else drive your car? I will let a buddy or two drive my car a round the block. But if my car is going to get abused on a track it's going to be by me. Get your keys back from Randy and tell him to get his own car.

A lot of the Lago's Video seemed very ham fisted, and not smooth.

I know this is an old threat but I hope to do a road course (New Jersey Motorsports Park) in a couple months and wondering about performance settings. Any trials (or just wise insights) regarding Street/Sport/Track settings for the various parameters we can adjust?

i kept my car in default mode. if anything started to get squirely I want the car to be able to keep us safe. I made sure ESP was ON. I let the car do the shifting. There's so much going on when it's ones first time out on the track that ones full attention needs to be focused on the road.

Have fun. Road course is a blast. I'm going out again tomorrow to Hallett, OK. Let us know how it goes
