Hey guys,
I just finished some upgrades to my 19’ Charger HC. It’s been stock, except CAI and Catch Can, with just 15k miles.
I just put in headers, no cats, chambered mufflers for exhaust. Then I installed a Diff Brace and BMR Solid Upper and Lower Rear Control Arms, as well as new Front and Rear Sway Bars. I’ve also upgraded my wheels to the WB wheels 10.5” with Nitto 555RII 315/35-20s in rear and 285/35-20 Nitto 555 G2s in front. I have spacers in rear and do not see any rubbing issues with the spacers, without I was definitely rubbing the plastic wheel liner.
Anyway on my first drive I noticed a rubbing sound from the rear anytime the car was moving. When stopped no sound, going straight slow or fast or turning I hear it. At first I just figured that my tires might be rubbing. Pulled the wheels/tires and like I mentioned no rubbing. I rechecked everything with the suspension and all is good. I put the car on jack and took the rear wheel/tires off and it looks like the drive shaft on both sides has a slight wobble which causing my hub and rotors to wobble slightly and make some contact with the brake pads. This is definitely causing the sound.
Thanks!
I've done a lot of research on here, so as of now I haven’t done and alignment yet because I just finished up all the work. Is this wiggle common to changing the rear control arms or has anyone ever seen this kind of wobble before? I don't see how an alignment would correct this? Please take a look at the video, its a little hard to see the axles cause it was getting dark, but you can see the hub and rotors aren't turning perfectly smooth. With the tires off it's not coming from the new wheel/tires and I had no issues with my differential prior to the suspension change. I just can't see how the control arms would cause the axles to vibrate/wobble a little like that, anyone have any ideas?
Nothing was touched in the driveshaft, differential or axles.
