Bought my 2016 charger hellcat with what looks like brand new pirelli p zeros, I guess they were replaced right before I bought it, they still have 90% life at least on them. They suck….. I’m looking at some nt555r2 for the rear, is there anything wrong with running the stock ones up front with the nt555r2 ? Don’t want to replace all 4 when they are still so new. I don’t plan on taking it to the drag strip but just want something that hooks better when playing on the street occasionally. Thanks

That's how I want to run my '21 widebody, however, I could not find a set of 555r2s anywhere this summer. Maybe they will be under the Christmas tree this December.

Very common. Nothing wrong with it. Just be mindful of weather. Don’t go wider than your wheel should carry - do it right and get the benefits your looking for.

IMO, Michelin PS4S. Almost as good as a drag radial and you'll get 12k miles out of them, plus they're a fantastic all weather tire (minus snow). On a Hellcat doing race car things on the street, you might get 3-5k out of those DRs.

Only 12k miles out of a PS4S? That seems very low. Are you basing this on somewhat often burn outs and digs?
315/35/20 PS4S saw 20k miles on the PS4S before it starts to loose rain efficiently. Dry traction still good until 25k but I took the camber out of the rear end so they wear evenly.
I got 6k miles out of my NT555rII this summer and they have about half tread left still. Did very well I’m the rain for a drag tire. Never took it over 70mph during heavy rain though. I definitely fall into the race things on the street category. Full summer of bing challenged at lights, highway runs and trying to beat my brother in laws trackhawk from a dig lol

I run pilot sport all season 4’s up front 315/35/20 and NT555rII 315/35/20 in rear here in Michigan. Great set up absolutely nothing wrong with running that combo and is probably more common than full drag packs. Loved the NT555rII and would hook from a slow roll but don’t expect to hook up from a dig lol for that, I’m getting 18x13 wheels made and throwing 345/35/18 Mickey Street SS on next spring/summer.

Many members have the Rear DR's for daily driving.

Back in 2015 I had 18 " Welds with Dr's and OEM 20 " Wheels with front Pirellis for Dragracing.

I've had the PS4S on my C8, as well as my 2018 T/A 392. I didn't use them on my Hellcat. I ran PS All Season 4s on my 2020 Hellcat. The PS4S lasted 14k miles on my T/A. They were down to 4 32nds on that car. I never raced it and it lived its entire life as a commuter. I put 10k miles on the C8 and it was down to 5 32nds, so wear was very similar. Now, the 2020 HC's all seasons were still at 8/32nds when I sold it and that car had over 25k miles on those tires.

Overall, I really don't like drag radials on the street unless someone has a backup set for actual track work. Irregular road surfaces chew up DRs and make them irregular. When you take a street driven DR to the strip, it behaves not much better than a standard street tire due to the irregular wear. Hence why I say you really only get a couple thousand miles out of a DR. Yes, they still have tread, but the irregular wear makes them no better than a comparable street tire, only they have a soft sidewall and poor cornering and inclement weather performance.
