I don't get hardly any kids or whoever want to race while we are out in the car.
The hellcat on the fender is a dead giveaway.

Welcome to the hellcat family and community also btw.
Take care and be safe

My foot is sometimes magnetically attracted to the floorboard. when I see another car pulling ahead, the foot also feels way heavier, almost like its made of lead or something.
That's why I go to the track, therapy for a itchy insoles. Plus 10 seconds isn't enough, it takes me at least 6 twenty minute full throttle run sessions to feel spent.
Also my car flies under the radar most times I think, there are about a hundred million challengers on the road, most people don't look twice. But then again maybe if I got the powerbait green one with a huge hellcat sticker on the side? LOL!!

Mostly just admiring stares and thumbs-up. I get more attention in a parking lot than on the street. The closest thing to a street race was a guy in a utility truck pulling a trailer and he passed me only to slow up and drive along side with pleasant compliments. He said he just wanted to tell his buddies he took a Hellcat on the street.

I too did some really stupid stuff in my youth, but now, in my mid 40's, I have a bit more restraint. I had a kid in a Civic ricer pull up to me the other day and we got caught at a red light. I wanted to show him what a Hellcat could do against his car, but me and my wife got more enjoyment watching him take off and blast through his gears while we putted away! I suppose he told his friends he beat a Hellcat too!

I'm seeing here that I better enjoy the riskier sports before I hit my mid 40's. So I have about seven years to race, gamble and fight. ;)

Hate to be a downer here...but do you know if you are street racing and the other guy wrecks and dies you can be charged with murder? I like my freedom too much. Wanna race please take it to the drag strip.

Edit: I'm relatively young (mid 40's) and used to do some of the dumbest shit on earth. So in my youth I have street raced. When I didn't have a lick of sense.

I still gamble and been in my share of fights but after witnessing a street race that killed someone and the aftermath...I'll pass on that.

I wasn't watching per se but it happened on the street in front my home at the time. Was a bad deal for eveyone involved.

I'm old! Still do stupid stuff! Should know better, but...
Taking her to the track is by far the best thing I've done with her! It's probably the only place safe enough to really stretch her legs. Want to try some of the open road trials and one mile events to really experiment.
Back on topic, not too many people are willing to take her on with stock machinery, but there are some pretty fast sleepers around here that will surprise you. Most won't play on the street and we'll see each other at the track. Built race cars regularly beat stock hellcats! Built Hellcats are proving to be incredibly fast!
All that being said, you should be able to eat most stock cars and 600 and smaller bikes. The one liter bikes (with a good rider) can be much faster than a Cat. As always, traction will be the deciding factor.
Be safe and have fun! (In that order, please)!

It is not much fun in the UK either with far too many unmarked police cars. Boring mundane stuff that you would never guess is a cop car.
I am doing an event on Sunday at an airfield. First time ever. 1.35 mile straight to the speed beacon. My car is still stock so interested to see what my Cat can do. Should be lots of exotica there
You have a Hellcat in the UK???????? WOW

I ended up next to a new GTR today. White and black just like my charger. No real fun but a couple of respect nods from the driver. Wish like hell it was going to go down. That's number one on my hit list lol. It was a work art anyway.

What are the laws like where you live? Street racing here is comparable to drunk driving when it comes to the law, and the penalties are draconian:

  • An immediate seven-day licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment at roadside when a police officer has reasonable and probable grounds to believe the offence was committed
If convicted:
  • Fines from $2,000 to $10,000
  • Courts can impose a driver licence suspension of up to 10 years for a second conviction within 10 years
  • The accumulation of six demerit points, a maximum licence suspension of two years for a first conviction and a maximum six months in jail.

Yes; you read that right. They suspend your license and take your car right then and there for 7 days. No judge, no jury, no day in court. Roadside justice.

And a minimum 1 year ban on driving Canada wide upon conviction. No thanks.

If I even sense someone wants to race me at a light I just accelerate slowly and let them go.

Be safe and good luck.

And the impound fee's can be costly as well. $150- $200 per day (I think). Not that it's happened to me......

I guess I would be one of the guys you pass...street racing is for the young and foolish..that is why God made "tracks"...;)
I have to admit, I did my share of street racing back in the day! I switched to drag racing at the track and was addicted... The adrenalin rush, competitiveness and prize money had me hooked. Bracket racing (foot brake) 3 times per week. My Hellcat has rekindled that burning desire! The cat is very consistent and makes a great bracket car! To bad the rules only allow me to race at test and tune without roll cage and 5pt harness!

The track is where it's at, safe and legal!

I have had people try to race me. I don't see a point in it. I don't have to prove anything to anyone. I know what I have and thats good enough.

If you want to do that stuff, keep it to the track.

Look, the Hellcat is fast. Everyone knows it. In the sedan class it's sitting in very rarified company. My four door sedan can hang and pull on quite a few dedicated sports cars and has the higher top speed.
So unless I run into a GT3 RS or a modded car, what's the point is risking the other drivers life? MANY drivers cannot handle their cars, a common problem with owners that have more money than understanding of driving dynamics. Do you want any part of that?

Cheers,

Robert

if you passed me...o wait, you couldnt pass me...(is what i would say if you didnt have a HC)

down here in south florida, there is no lack of street racing...boca raton and FAU with its thousands of students... its not road racing, its slalom the old decrepit people
I live in Delray - and while I know your commentary isn't wrong - oddly I had not much happen the 4 years I had my Scat Pack down here and nadda since moving up to my HC.

The older drivers and all the illegals doing 20 MPH under the speed limit is infuriating.
