Hi everyone I am currently in Germany and will be here for a few more years, my issue is related to driving in German traffic. People here are not really used to seeing the red turning signals and also not used to seeing the brake lights being the same light and the same color. Several times I have nearly been rear ended because people see my four way flashers and don't think its me actually stopped. I have been searching without any success on how to make the turn signals and four ways a different color than my brake lights. Here in Europe the color is amber for turn signals and flashers. I have reached out to several companies to see if I can do an EU conversion but people here work extremely slow and have not heard back I did hear from a company in Poland but they want me to send my originals to them and they would change whatever they have to change and send them back. That would mean my car is not legally allowed to drive until they return and I am not willing to do that. Also the cost is over 600 euro for that place. The guy from Retroshop wants well over 1500 USD to modify or sell me a kit. Why is this so difficult to do?

Enter VLAND kit for Challengers from 2008 to 2014, I was curious if I changed the connectors to that kit will it fit in my car? Can this somehow be modified to fit my needs?

Ive always said they need to be a different color than the brake lights. It’s ridiculous that they're the same.
The cost of converting is probably due to the labor intensive process. I would imagine they would have to disassemble the tail lamp which is sealed and then de-solder all red LED’s and then solder in amber ones. Then put it all back together and re-seal the unit. Kind of a PIA.

In the US they can red, yellow, orange or clear in the front depending on the state. The rear signal color must be Amber or red tho under US DOT 108.

Its a money saving idea from the government and its a poor one imo. Ur brake lights should be a different color than ur turn signals its common F-ing sense smh!

But if u have Amber LED's in the rear they do not cut it unless the lens is colored to match.

U can always use hand signals as well they're still legal in evey state lol. Just dont try that at night unless ur a cyclist 😂

I agree that all turn signal lights should be yellow/amber/orange. I've swapped taillights on several vehicles to achieve this. How are these vehicles legally sold in Europe without compliant lightning?

Hello, i also live in Germany.

All European cars have to have amber turn signals front and rear. On US cars, only one cable is used, because the brake and turn lights are the same bulb. When US cars get converted to meet European regulations, a splitter box must be added, that divides that one signal in two (brake/turn signals). Therefor the rear lamps have to be opened and the half outer part of the brake/turn signal gets converted to amber LEDs. There are a lot of YT Videos of different ways from companies to convert the lights. Also a rear fog light has to be added. Therefor usually the left backup lamp gets converted to a bright red LED light. I have just rewired my car with the splitter box below

Best Regards

Didn't think amber was required any more, don't some of the new BMW's have red turn signals?

Thanks everyone for the great advise, my situation is unique as I am currently in Germany but will return to US in the future. My car is full US Spec but I am going to look at some of these tips written in here. The biggest problem is not having that separation of color between my brakes and turn signals

I check it out did you have to buy two separate ones? also were you able to get a solid light or is it a sequential? Right now I got in touch with Wittkopp Automobile US Cars Import, EU Reimport, Jeeps, Hardtops, Auto Zubehör, Ersatzteile and they said that they can do the conversion with dynamic turn signals. Waiting on prices and lenght as I live a few hours away from this place.

Only one box is needed to do the conversion. The most work will be opening up the light and adding the amber LEDs. The rest is pretty straight forward if you have the exterior lighting diagram where each connector and PIN number is written on and even the color of the cables. I do not have the sequentials. Wittkopf will be charging a lot of money. I only paid the 200 for the box and did the install my self. My lights already have been converted to amber

It is insane I have been quoted anywhere between 1500 euros to 2500 without shipping, ah yeah I almost forgot I have to send them my taillights which I am not too keen on.
