If you can afford it, get the Hellcat. It has 200+ more HP and better everything. If you don’t want to use the extra power on certain days or when someone else drives your car, use the black key or put it in Eco mode.

I am thinking of getting 1. I feel like the Scat Pack is a great value...good power and great looks or should I nut up and get the Hellcat? Will I feel less of a man with a Scat Pack lol
A bit odd to tie one’s masculinity to the car they drive but ok. With two kids, as long as you can afford a Hellcat then go for it. Otherwise perhaps the Scat Pack is more sensible.

If you want the manual transmission you might not have any choice, they haven't built an M6 Hellcat in a while and the future for it is uncertain.

A 392 is a killer engine. Either are great cars, having to have a hellcat to satisfy some masculinity challenge is bs. Drive what you like and can afford. My son and I have had 392s and frankly, while the HC is awesome, I personally had more fun in my 392. I had a 2015 SRT. Best of the bunch. Have fun either way.

You will 100% be wishing you got the Hellcat down the road. Especially if youre thinking new. Two more model years left and your shot at a new one ends. You’ll be kicking yourself for not getting one when you had the chance.

I was late on the draw and Slow beat me to the point:

I was in the same position 1.5 years ago, $20k more for a SC? Fortunately I made the right choice. Especially now that we are nearing the end, you may not have the opportunity to upgrade later. How will you feel for the rest of your life thinking you could have had the HC?

Yes, if you want a M6, then SP. I was lucky and got one of the last M6HC's. Yesterday on an on-ramp just for fun I leaned on it in 2nd and spun the rears most of the way up. (I have the P0AS on the the winter, suck for traction but lots of fun!)

The “less of a man” was suppose to be a light hearted joke. Don’t care what others think. Drove a Prius and a Chevy Spark EV for years because I was in a building stage of my life and now have the opportunity to make memories with the kids and they are all about the Widebodys. They love the fun colors and the noises they make.

I am located in Ca and have noticed the great deals out of state. Do you know of any out of state dealerships that will sell to Ca?

For me, it was matter of a fully optioned Scat, or a more base level Cat.

I could have easily afforded the later, but I refuse to pay around $100k for what, in my mind, looks the same generally but has power I would never use. Much less find enough real open space to achieve full power up.

Plus, the $2100 gas guzzler tax (and lower mileage generally) is/was the final deal breaker.

Heck, the Scat has more power than I’ll ever need or use.

$56k bs $100+ K? It was a no brained (for me).

That being said, I’d obviously never diss a Cat!

The Scat was just the way I deciddd to go.

Regrets? Not a one… 🤗

At 68 years of age, I’ve never even done a burnout with the Scat.

Not to say I don’t juice it once in awhile to keep it alive. 🤠

The absolute only reason to not get a Hellcat would be affordability. The Scat is a ton of fun for the mon but it will leave you fantasizing about the Hellcat. The Scat is a really good value, though. Deeper pockets mean the Hellcat is the way to go.

Other than not having consistent low-11/high-10 ETs that come with an A8, the M6 is a vastly superior driving experience.

My recommendation is to find a gently used 2020 or earlier HC with an M6.

My 2019 is a stripper (optionless) M6 widebody and I love it. The money I didn't spend on meaningless (to me) options has gone into meaningful modifications.

The way you describe your driving habits indicates you picked the right car for you. They are great cars. I will say though that I paid $70,000 for my 2019 in Jan of 2020. Redeye widebody with only the 3.09 gears. Pretty basic to say the least. So, if that's the case between the 56k and the 70k, it's not that big of a difference. For what it's worth I think the guzzler tax $2100 is for the widebody only. Otherwise it's $1700, which is still a beefy tax. Enjoy your Scat!
