going to get spare set of wheels and tires for track and street. Concerned about low pressure warning pulling power from engine if lit on dash warning. I see there is a part number listed for Challenger, Charger , Jeep TPMS sensors. Prices range from $37 to $75. Can someone tell me how sensors are synched to the car? Do only certain parts communicate with various cars computers? What sensors are common to our cars that can be found in parts stores or tire dealers?

On certain cars, if the pressure reaches a certain low, it will limit the vehicles speed to 50mph, but from what I have seen this only applies to cars equipped with run flat tires like corvettes because when they have a total loss of pressure the tires can only handle a max speed of 50mph.
