hello all,
I have been searching for a demon hood for my redeye. I have had several bad experiences with aftermarket products to include VICREZ and IKON. I would absolutely advise to stay away from both. I do plan to post additional info about those issues at a later date. If anyone knows someone or has a demon hood available could you please dm me( [email protected]) . I know a vin is needed to get one from mother chrysler, not sure what the big deal is but I would be willing to go that way if anyone was willing to assist. Everything else is done on my car, I converted back to the 4 piston brembos up front and put the factory demon 18 inch wheels on with nitto drag radials. Had the calipers powder coated to match the indigo blue and then had billet tech do everything under the hood. Not changing badges ...lol its not a demon.... but i do like the hood better than my stock redeye hood and thats what we all do, make our cars to our personal taste. Thanks to all, drive safe, stay healthy

Anderson Composites makes a nice CF hood if you should have prob finding oem. Fit and finish supposed to be very good.

thank you.... its also 4 to 5 hundred dollars more than a stock hood. I have looked at it and watched a few of the reviews. I may go that way if I cant get an oem hood. I am just a bit shakey based on the poor experiences with the previous 2 companies... 4 hoods all arrived damaged because of poor packing and they jerked me around for 7 months.

+1 for anderson, top notch products, plus, yes, it will be more expensive as it is carbon fiber.

Thank you for the insight. I am looking to match the color of the car since I do not have carbon fiber anywhere else. I will have to see if they sell a paintable version. It would be foolish to paint a carbon fiber hood.

I have only seen one valid Demon hood wind up on a non-Demon car, and I am still amazed by it happening. You're only real option is to look aftermarket because if someone does sell their Demon hood, it would go for more than aftermarket most likely.

And the CF ones really dont save much, if any, weight, and require hood pins, so its a cosmetic thing for the most part. Additional air induction is as negligible as the weight savings.

Actually the aftermarket carbon fiber costs more than an oem demon hood. I have already done that homework. I don’t plan to race the car but already purchased the oem hood pin kit , insulation pad and wiper parts so I don’t need to remove them from my stock hood . There were many oem hoods sold by steve white in 2020 but it was a 1 time thing and I missed it. My other issue is that I’m not a fan of the carbon fiber look so I’m looking to get a hood that I can paint to match the car so getting carbon fiber would be wasted but the search goes on. Maybe a quality aftermarket will turn up and maybe an oem or owner will offer assistance

I think it's more about the size of the scoop and air flow, from what I recall the Hellcat scoop is undersized for the SC potential. It's an interesting metric to measure weight vs air flow and how it affects the overall HP. Rule of thumb is 1 HP +/- for every 8 lbs?

Anderson has a rep. on this site who will respond and a couple of guys on here who have bought from them were happy with their hoods, over $2K but cheaping out on HC parts is Dodge's MO, personally I prefer to install the best parts possible so a $2K hood isn't bad but a $5K hood might be a little ridiculous for a daily.

I believe you will have to change out your CAI to the Demon version but not sure as I haven't gotten that far down the rabbit hole yet.

@HellcatHellYeah Ive wondered if the JLT would mate up to the base of the Demon hood bezel but considering the expense it’s a moot point really, for me at least.

I would love to see a six pack hood on a LX

It’s really a max wedge hood cuz those guys used that design first in the 60’s but whatever

That design is obviously what the engineer’s were thinking about when they designed the oem demon piece. Too bad it wasn’t larger but I get it todays car guys care a lot about appearance

My car is a Redeye and the cai is set up the same so my last piece is the hood and you are correct I don’t want to cheap out but I have lost almost a year fighting with the last 2 vendors VICREZ sent 2 damaged hoods after 5 months of waiting. I prefer to go OEM since I want it color matched to the car and not carbon fiber but will have to see how this plays out

Hi,

Good luck trying to get a factory hood as need a vin and proof of ownership, not to mention you'll have the same issues with the 2 bezels. Rarely they come off restrictions so maybe get a dealership to watch for you.

This one I believe has provisions for the CAI

I managed to find one on Craigslist shortly after getting my Scat Pack in 2020, was used for weld testing at a local shop, and had a pain finding and getting the 2 bezels.

Also maybe try this as they list a few off salvage from time to time

Good luck again,
Jim

good morning and thank you for the response. I am aware of the vin and proof of owner ship as mentioned in my post. Additionally, I would not recommend purchasing anything from VICREZ afert the horror show of an experience i had with not 1 but 2 hoods from them. As mentioned in my post, poorly packaged and damaged upon arrival after 8 months of waiting, poor customer care, zero compensation for all the trouble and lie after lie about the shipping and availability so if you or anyone you know has thoughts of buying anything from them, dont..... go shop in a more reliable and honest establishment. I plan to post photos and the email stream on social media to prevent others from the same treatment. Looking as carbon fiber was also suggested but since i want to match the color that option is also not viable. I will continue to search and maybe a current owner will assist with necessary info.
