Hello all, picked up a 19 widebody finally, looked nationwide and couldn't find one with all the options I wanted but got a good deal on mine. Only thing I wanted that wasn't there was the shaker hood. Anyone reading this added that setup to your car with paint...how much did it run you? Looks like there are 2 parts to get, the Shaker kit and the hood? about 2700 minus paint... cant imagine painting a stock new hood can be more than 3-400 bucks.

Thoughts or experience, thanks!

If they paint just the hood and get it to match on the first try, maybe. But if they can't get the color to match, then often, shops want to blend into the bumper and fenders for an easier match but now you're looking at way more $$$ and no way I would want to go that way. So the $3-400 is still an unknown.

$300-$400 is on the very low side IMO. I paid $740 for a charger SRT hood, primer, 2 coats paint and clear coat. Like Slidd said, they will most likely want the car so they can blend in the paint to match the fenders. Depends on how many coats of paint you want.

Wrap the hood in satin and paint the shaker body color. Its the opposite of what they normally do (except a few 50th cars) and its less painting and matching.
