Talked to the guy who filmed that.. The M6 was on stock tires and spun hard on the roll race. He also braked for traffic... The auto and Mustwat were on DRs..

I think that video is a little suspect. well at least the last race. the gt500 was racing the cat in the middle lane and then then they were neck and neck. Then the other car filming the race was atlas 2 cars back rolled them both up.. I don't think so!!!!!!!!!! I have no proof but I would bet that the film car has a little dope on it. maybe a 50-100 shot. The one cat is not after thank the other by that much. No way, that here in houston and they can tune these car here. So I got to call BS

Jerrod aka fatt-cat is all stock except for MT DRs. The difference with the 3 car video is the Hellcat in the middle and the GT500 were both M6 and his is A8. They lose ground while shifting, he doesn't. Look at how he pulls away from that blue GT500 when they line up...

I got to say that I still don't believe it. I owed a 13 GT500. I know that these cars are fast but there is no way its that much faster. No way it makes up 3-4 cars unless the gt500 guy can't drive..

Probably can't drive & an idiot...

Again, I really got no problem with guy's racing on the street, that's between them & the cops. But when the douche bags get into it with traffic I start to loose any respect; if I had any. I've heard all about how good a driver so & so is and it still doesn't wash. Can't predict what that other traffic is going to do & they want to race into it?

Good Luck boys: Your going to need it eventually...

I couldn't believe that either when I saw it, but I had nothing to disprove it. I own a Shelby, never drove or got a ride in a Hellcat so with my limited knowledge, I was left thinking "WOW! The Hellcat is really that much faster than a 2013/2014 GT500!?" I knew the auto hellcat would win, but didn't think it would catch up from 3, 4 car lenghts behind and pass it up that easily! I really would like to run one with my stock Shelby to see for myself.

The thing is.. on paper the car shouldn't be this fast, it's a fat pig and all. But it's underrated power wise and the gearing and torque multiplication with the A8 transmission allows the Hellcat to move *FAST*.

I own both and can tell you the video is accurate! The Shelby pulls hard but nothing like the Hellcat!
Is that a 2013/2014? The Hellcat REALLY pulls THAT much harder than the Shelby!!!???

You guys are absolutely killing me. I'm trying to be patient to get a Hellcat, but y'all are making it impossible. I know I should be happy with the Shelby, and I am, I really do like it, it's a load of fun, but from the sounds of it, the Hellcat is in another universe.

Somebody's gotta give me a ride in one of these things. Anybody local willing??? You'll get a ride in the slow Shelby in exchange ;)

Well, the quickest stock DR GT500 is 11.25. The quickest stock DR Hellcat is 10.84. All things being equal, an actual drag race, the GT500 is a bit slower. These street runs, so many variables are involved. Hellcat is a monster.

That 11.25 run was done by NJTony and was on stock tires with a 1.80 second 60 foot. I was just talking to NJTony actually on another forum. Drag radials on a GT500 with a stock tune doesn't really improve much on a well prepped track because the clutch protection built into the stock tune makes it impossible to launch the car hard.

JohnnyHellcat has matched Dodge's times on DRs on a well prepped track with good weather. DrBuick damn near matched it on a NON-prepped surface and upper 30s temperature. The black cat in Texas ran that 10.4 with a track like glue, perfect weather and DA with VP109. The Hellcat will no longer pull timing with no knock present due to the race gas.. a few tenths doesn't seem like much on the surface, but once you're in the 10s or even low 11s its HUGE.

Both cars are fast, no doubt.. but with the A8 Hellcat not losing any ground due to shifts and the GT500 losing during each shift, the A8 Hellcat clearly has the advantage.

Here's a pull from a heavy Hellcat.. does a 13/14 GT500 accelerate this fast? I only ask because I've never driven one.

OHH I was thinking you ran a 10.9 for some reason. I was probably mixing that up with the Hellcat at Vegas last weekend that went up against the Tesla and had a best pass of 10.9.

You beat Dodge's numbers, they ran 10.86 @ 126 on DRs, 11.2 @ 125 on street tires.

Hard to tell by looking at the video's, but they seem very similar. Except, as you said, the GT500 loses time with each shift.

Here's a video of a bone stock 2013 GT500 accelerating. They look similar to me but as you can see, shifting takes time away. And the gearing is WAY different, as you can also see.

My Shelby is a '13 and I thoroghly enjoy driving it. No slouch by a long shot! I was just trying to answer your statement in a non bias manner. My Hellcat is an A8 model. If you lived close to St. Louis, I'd be happy to give you a ride.
