Shocked by the pricing of the new Cars

I'm shocked that my 2021 Super Stock in October of 2021 was $85k, and now you can't find a new one for under $110k. The prices of these cars are crazy.

Prices have been increasing across the board, and certainly since COVID started.

My '22 TRX, which I took delivery of early last year, had a sticker of $84,xxx. You're lucky to buy a base truck for that now, and my exact build is about $10k higher ordered today.
Apparently you've been in lockdown since March 2020? Wait until you go to the grocery store.

You can still get a fully loaded (100k + sticker TRX) for under 90k through one of the participating discount dealers over on the TRX forums.

I'm so tired of the covid excuses. We should be up and running full steam again by now. Everyone has marked up EVERYTHING in the name of covid. It's been 3 years now, enough already. Certain things I can see, but mostly it's greed.

I'm with you John, im so glad I bought my car while there were discounts. In fact we replaced all our cars & truck right before it hit. Got lucky.

I don’t know what industries you guys work in, but all 3 of the businesses our family is in have giant backorder lists, supply prices have gone off the charts, (some have come back down to earth but it takes weeks and months instead of days to get said materials) and labor prices have gone up. I don’t think there is a much greed going on at this point. Everyone is trying to find a way to push thru, and that comes with passing costs along down the line

Lucky the creator of that image doesn't get paid for every time you use it. He could've bought an overpriced Hellcat by now.

$20k ADMs??
ADM has nothing to do with MSRP increasing. That’s just dealers who believe demand surpasses their ability to resupply

There were ADM’s long before covid. The problem is there are people with more money than brains that believe some of these new models are special and will be worth paying over sticker for potential future values. At least that’s all I can figure. There isn’t a new FCA product on the market right now I would be willing to pay over sticker for, but obviously others are or we wouldn’t be seeing the markups from many of the dealers. But when Kia is marking up SUVs $5k over MSRP here in town and people are lined up to buy them as truck delivers them, you aren’t gonna fix that problem overnight

When hellcats came out and we were all on this very forum taking about price gouging, people complained paying $5-10k over for the first couple months to get their hands on hellcats but it sure beat the $20k markups many others were trying to get. They sold over sticker lightly used for quite some time as well. I got my charger for slightly under sticker in 2015. Search harder and more often if you want a deal, spending your time on the forum complaining about prices isn’t gonna help obviously

He needs to use his meme about his Meme.
LOL
Read the message! The message discussed October 2021 not 2020.

I paid ADM. Not sure what a brain is worth in relation to money but I can tell the car in the future has a much lower value than what I’m paying for it.

I want the car so I’ll buy it and I’ll pay what the dealer and I both think is fair. That’s the market we live in….

All new car pricing has been out of control for a long time now and gets worse every year. It needs to stop. That doesn't even factor in any of the COVID inspired greed.

As documented on this board all new car pricing has gone up significantly over the past three years. The analysis showed however that the Dodge price increases where far beyond the domestic competitors. Guess it's the popularity of the models in combination with the limited numbers with 23 being the last. Maybe they need the seed money for the electric transition. Don't know the details but I see them going out of business (not Ram or Jeep) shortly regardless of what Stellantis says about allowing some long runway to reach profitability. They've had years to develop an EV or Hybrid or new platform and have not done Jack. Will join that long list of failed American car brands. Buick can't be far behind.

My point exactly. No matter what it is I'm buying, if I choose to by a Red Eye and I have to pay a little over, I don't mind because I'm getting something I like, I enjoy. It won't be online 2 years from now for sale with 500 miles. If it does go for sale, it will have miles on it because I intend to enjoy it. I'm in Colorado, and weather permitting I drive a Roadrunner and with a Hellcat to enjoy, I can start tearing down the bird and give her some attention.
Funny how " it needs to stop" is said by those who have their car from a few years back. That's when they paid an insane amount.

It's called Capitalism. If it's too expensive don't buy it.

Exactly. Dealers are cranking up adm's so when people see $10k adm's they think they are getting a good deal. We have already seen people here saying "not bad only $10k over".

Sup yall need your honest opinion about my unique situation. Maybe i should make this its own topic but what do i know.
I ordered a Charger Hellcat Widebody for msrp back in November. Guess it won't be here till March at the earliest

I got to work 6 days a week and currently have no car. Just use uber. So I asked my dealer about another vehicle in the meantime.

He told me he has a 2023 Challenger widebody hellcat arriving any day now and I can lease or buy it for msrp.

In this current market do you think I can take delivery of this Challenger. Drive it for a few months and then sell it for what I paided or maybe.......MORE?

Maybe I should just stick to ubering till my charger is here lol

The current unusual circumstances of the market and economy right now actually make this a hard question to answer.
