Hello,

My Charger HC only had 2700 miles on it and I just washed it by hand and notices very small orange spots on the tail fin?

It doesn't rub off seems liked its baked in. I called Dodge CS and they said to bring it in for service to look at.

What a disappointing discovery. Any ideas?

If you take it to them they are going to most likely mess something else up. Wax is not going to really remove anything. If it’s on the clear it’s just on the top coat and it should remove easily with some compound. Can you scratch it with your fingernail?

It may be baked into the clear. If when you scratch it you can feel it it’s on the clear and not under it. If you scratch it and it feels smooth it’s under the clear. And what I mean by the dealer is after they sell you a car nobody cares about you after that. Them getting in and out of your car kicking stuff. not being carful. Swinging the doors open and hitting other cars. Parking it next to other cars and hitting your doors giving you door dings. Just stuff like that.

Yes I agree they are not overly careful your correct. It does appaer to be under the clear like you mention. If I compound it out will that screw up the paint IYO?

No not it all. Just clean the area, get a microfiber cloth and some Meguiars polish and rub it clockwise and see if any of it comes out. As long as you don’t sit and buff on the spot with a buffer and pad for 10 min you will be fine.

I would not say that all dealers have techs who will not take care of your car. That is a very biased statement and probably based on his experience with his dealer. My dealer let's me go back with the car if I ask. It probably won't go in the shop but back to the detailing area. Just tell them you want to be with the car and see what the detailer guy thinks.

I assumed it went without saying, obviously not all are bad just most from my experience.
