I agree with the OP. I had a 2016 Hellcat and then owned a 2019 NB Redeye, and the Redeye just did not feel like it had the same power as my Hellcat. My 2016, I would just blip the throttle, and the tires would break lose. My Redeye, I had to really stand on it for this to happen. Same tires and everything. I don't know, maybe it was just an illusion.

Wider tires equals more traction and less wheel spin?

Assuming you're using the red key? My Challenger HC RE WB feels really quick. Anytime below 65 mph it will spin the tires at full throttle. Below 40 mph it will spin the tires at 1/2 throttle. That's why I have some 345 mm monster meats ordered.

Agree with an OP. I had 2015 Charger HC. It was fast from get go. Now I have '21 Charger Redeye and it is not as peppy from get go by a noticeable margin. However, I must say that everything changes at about 3000 RPM. Once you get there, the '21 a faster then '15 used to be.

It seems that the Redeye is tuned differently. I find it kind of nice that Redeye has 'better' road manners, it is quite docile on the street if you wanted to be, that is to say if you do not push it.

I tend to drive in 'sport' setting now, while in the past I was fine with 'street' setting. In 'sport' with 'street' traction and 'street' steering the car can be extremely fast an in instant. So, my observations are this, - below 2500 in any setting, the car is sluggish, but at 3000 the car is fast. Amazing thing is that the transition is smooth and actually very nice.

Last thing, the suspension and the tires (size) on Redeye are way better the what I remember them on '15 HC. This results in ease of navigating potholes on the road. I like that too!

Tire sizes on the Hellcat are the same as on the Redeye..... nothing has changed about that in the 7 years the model has been made (excluding the widebody models).

Blower size on the HC vs. the Redeye is different and certainly can account for some of that power change (as already stated with regards to RPM). Also, you've had a lot of time to get comfortable in a 707-717HP car.... adding 80hp isnt really going to jump out at you....

My 2020 HC seems way faster, shifts better and is clearly tighter and seems better grounded than my 2018. Not sure why, 10 more HP cant be why. Maybe during covid they slowed down and built them better?

Might be the 3.09 gears lower wheel speed making it feel not quite as snappy as the stock 2.62 gears. Had the same thing happen on a fast ford I own when changing from 3.73 to 4.10 gears. Instead of spinning tires from a roll it would just grip and propel the car forward.

Is it me or is the new Hellcats have lost there power? .. I have had a 2015 and 2018 Hellcat charger and they both feel faster from stock then my Hellcat challenger redeye…
I've always felt that these cars are not all the same. The HP rating is designed for the need to obtain a "number". Just the the MPG for fuel consumption. It's an average and not all new vehicles of exact same car will produce the same MPG. I feel the same way about the horsepower rating. Some of us get a 775 horse Redeye and some get over 800. It's just my own theory. How can you a manufacturer make 10's of thousands of cars that all have 797 horses? So, maybe your older one was a bit livelier after all.

No, I am not in Eco mode.in fact even if I push it the car seem to hesitate and then goes. Very strange. I only have about 500 ml on it and I heard that it kind of 'wakes up' at some point.i hope it's true.

Anyway, yes it can go real fast, but it is not as peppy as my old 2015 Hellcat used to be.
Now...if I shift manually then it works well. Bottom line is this, the car shifts from 1 to 2 ok, but 2 -3 too fast and RPM drop like a stone. If I hold the 2 or 3 gear manually then the car is fast, but in auto it is kind of slow, unless I push on the 'go' pedal a lot!
I must say I am considering selling it.

You should consider switching around some of the performance settings... you may be needing to switch to sport over street

Additionally, an extra 80hp on a car this size isnt going to be some substantial jump....and anyone who says it is is full of themselves..
