2019 Hellcat non WB with 30k miles, sold it for $61K

I paid $63.5K cash 11 months ago with 2100 miles and put 28k miles on it. I really loved this car and did not have any issues, one of the best cars I ever owned. Sad to see her go.

I am looking for a 2020 non WB RE but kind of worried about all the RE problems with motor issues.

also thinking about going Z06 or ZL1 but hate the comfort issues.

Also thinking about AMG and M series.

Dang man, you drove 28K miles in 11 months? You must be on the road all day long. I put about 7K on my vehicles per year.

I have a 2019 RE 10,000 miles and no issues at all.
Oh, I did come out to the driveway his morning and saw a sheetrock screw in my RR tire. Pulled it out and it leaked, dammit. So I did have to go to Discount Tire before my first cup of coffee and get it repaired though.

RE motor issues? Please post your findings. Most of us are here daily and I've seen nothing that tells me there is a known common RE engine issue. It's a beefed up reliable Hellcat design.

What RE engine issues are you seeing?
Noise and not starting

I read on the other SRT forum that a member had 475miles and now needs to replace the engine.
I did a google for “Redeye problems” and most were motor issues.
I know mine was problem free but other have horror stories.

I am looking for RE but want at the least 2k miles on it. I have also read that all the issues start before the first 1k miles.

Who'd you sell it to, private or outright?

Engine noise? Very uncommon. “A member” on the forum replaced an engine at 475 miles, not a bunch. Does that somehow represent a trend? Don't forget that people love to complain on forums and the happy ones dont bother posting. The number of failures are very small. You can go on any forum for any product and be scared off. That is an extremely skewed way to judge reliability. And Googling Hellcat problems is another great way to unnecessarily scare yourself silly. If you had Googled the actual ratio of engine issues compared to non issues you wouldnt be so nervous. Might want to Google “happy Redeye owners”, the numbers would be a lot higher than the few who are not. Maybe Google “Hellcat problems”, i‘ll bet you find the exact same complaints. I can tell you that the RE engine is every bit as reliable as the Hellcat engine, from experience and also from being here for years and seeing that the overwhelming majority of RE owners are happy. There has been zero trend of them having any more issues than Hellcats.
I will say that my RE does have a slow re-start when at operating temp, but guess what? My last non RE Hellcat had it too. I‘ve read a post here and there about RE engine issues but again, i’ve read about Hellcat issues too.
Do the research correctly, search Hellcat problems as well, compare the issues and the ratios of the number of each of the models built with actual failures. Then tell us the RE is more problematic. There have been horror stories with Hellcats too. You are just arent researching those because yours was good to you.

I just sold my 2018 HC WB with 10700 miles for 68k that I paid $56,500 (60k with taxes). It was going to need new tires anyway.

If you are searching for problems you'll find them. And remember people with problems will certainly post asking for advice and others' experiences. On the opposite side, there isn't a thread where someone asks everyone to chime in who hasn't had engine problems. But maybe we should. I'm sure the replies would be astronomical. JD Power found that the Challenger had the best reliability in its class. You're coming from one with good experiences, so I'd be excited about a new RE rather than worried.

Yeah, it's like the oil pump gear on the Coyote Mustang. Same part was used in the 2011-14 GT500. The Coyote guys swear up and down that you have to get the billet OPG or your engine will grenade if you're pushing over 600hp. Total nonsense. I've only ever changed the OPG on one of my Coyote builds... and that's only because it was a complete overhaul with upgraded cams, pistons, ported/sealed heads and an F-1A ProCharger pushing >20psi.

Epat, $75k seems high for a narrow body. I just bought a HC WB RE in plum crazy a few days ago for $72,900, 2019 model though.

Unfortunately I sold my 2019 HC WB for $62,500. but I sold to a dealer. Wish I got what you got.
