Hey guys,

On my 2019 WB Challenger HC, I've noticed that the throttle in sport and track modes is very touchy. It makes it hard to cruise around with trying to modulate the throttle, kind of like an on/off switch when barely touching the throttle, trying to hold a speed.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Did you buy it used? If so, Maybe has a pedal commander installed on it??

Yes, it was used with 4800 miles.

I doubt it has a pedal commander, and I'm about to get it tuned (just got the PCM unlocked by HPtuners), so I can have it corrected, was just curious if anyone else has had the same issue. Do you know where the pedal commander would be located, if it does have one? I want to get that pulled before the tune. I assume they are plug and play and probably go between the throttle body and PCM? I didn't see anything weird plugged into the PCM when I removed it.

The pedal commander clips into the back of our electronic gas pedal, so you’ll find it in the cabin.

Here is a YouTube video of the install:

You'll stay in first gear longer in track mode. Maybe that's why. Maybe you are usually in second when cruising around. There is a way to display what gear you are in on the gauge cluster next to drive.

Hi Spoolin,
Per page 166 of your owners manual "SPORT Mode will provide improved throttle response and modified shifting for an enhanced driving experience, as well the greatest amount of steering feel."
With that said, it is normal to have more throttle response when in Sport Mode.

Hey Rob,

Yeah, I understand that, it just feels like an on/off switch when trying to hold speed and barely touching the throttle.

I stay in sport mode pretty much , throttle is not like a on off switch

I always use Sport mode and I could granny around all day at 20 MPH if I wanted to. I realize you have 10 more HP than my 2015 but something is not right if your throttle feels on/off and/or is unstable.

i have no problem going 15 through my neighborhood in track manual mode, 1st & 2nd gear, in my redeye... sounds like a pedal commander or something of similar use, a voltage regulator to the accelerator pedal.

Yeah, it's really odd. Even when I am cruising a 30mph, I can let off the throttle and the car will drive itself, don't even need to touch the throttle. It doesn't even seem like it will slow down on its own and I have to hit the brakes to force it to slow down. Something is definitely not right and I couldn't find any type of pedal commander anywhere.

Check to see what gear it's in when this happens. I used the TRACK a lot mode recently on a short track and Road America, and just LOVE the rev-matching downshift along with the engine braking also.
