Hi All,
I just got off the phone with SRT and wanted to share what I was told. I was supposed to take delivery of my car today but it is on hold in the Mira Loma rail facility now due to recall. according to SRT there was a part switch over the first week of February and my car is affected and holding my delivery. he said a tech was dispatched and in route to repair the cars at the railyard before they even get to the dealer so assume it must be a relatively easy fix. all in all they were very knowledgeable, I was quite impressed and surprised. I also informed my dealer about the recall as they were unaware since it's so new. ( my build date 2/09 )

seems odd they would do repairs in a railyard, why not have the dealer do it, that doesn't sound right

I guess whatever it takes, one thing for sure, it will probably speed up the process

It costs less than having the dealer do it

I'm sure that's what it is but in my fantasy it's a SRT tech that looks like a surgeon and knows exactly what he's doing , gives my car the white glove treatment, double checked everything and it goes perfectly. Okay okay you can all stop laughing now.

Or it could be that the next time the engine starts, the possibility exists that it could produce an engine fires and burn it to the ground...better safe than sorry and from what I've seen, not a difficult repair.

Nah, they hired the kid from the local oil change place to do it for $7 an hour. Of course he has to test drive it afterwards

Yep I was there last week, nice down there. roads are clean, no bugs or salt on the roads. you can wash your car and it will stay clean for weeks. Unless you get that rain. You have had some rain past few weeks.
Yes, it's nice. But the one thing we have a lot of is windshield chipping, *&&$#* rocks! I try not to drive around, close to vehicles that have potentially falling or flying things (you never know what you'll see beside the road!). All of mine and my husbands' cars have had to have the windshield replaced. I noticed last week that there was a small ding in the glass just in front of the mirror. Suck. Blasted rocks.

not the first I have heard of it. They would have to pay the dealer mark up for the part, and the tech to to the work. even if it is ez it would still cost them over a 100 buck a car. Anything fuel related like that is .6-1.0 flag time. pretty smart on there part. But not cool to hold up you car.

I wonder if this is why my Charger is still being held hostage in Brampton...
