SRT8 increased HP, how

13169 14
The new SRT8 HP is listed at 485. Is that just a computer change for the 470HP engine. What did they do to get the 485HP out of the 470HP engine. Can that "update" be done to an existing 470HP engine and if so, how.

Vinnerman, you may have better luck on a SRT8 392 forum.

diablosport which basically has market dominance over the hemi tuning world is working on it. They do Ford,Dodge,Chevy. (They make the tuner hardware that tuners use to tune your car)
2011-2014 Challenger 392:
470hp @ 6,000rpm

2015 Challenger 392;
485hp @ 6,100rpm.

For the 2011-2014, Diablosport, as mentioned, already cracked the ECM. All you need to do from their is run the 91 octane tune (increases shift point to 6,100rpm) or use the "increase the shift points" feature in the quick adjust to get the same power output at the 2015.

AJ, the Hemituner can handle the 2011-2014 392's and more than likely get you more than the 15, he is now on his own and not with Arrington.

2011-2014 6.4 srt's were cracked. you could take a 2012 srt 6.4 and gain 15hp easily with a tune
The 6.4L in the Jeep can be "tuned" if you want to call it that, but it is not completely unlocked like the 6.1L was. For all intents and purposes, it's fairly useless with regards to the cost-benefit of it all. It's also a reason that there have been quite a few WK2 Jeep SRTs with superchargers that have lost their engines. The 6.4L does not like boost.
