The new Direct Connect Stage 2 kit requires 100 octane gas. E85 has an octane rating between 100 and 107. Being that E85 is cheaper and easier to find than 100 octane gas are the 2 fuels interchangeable?

E85 requires roughly 30% more fuel volume to achieve the same AFR, the direct connection tune won't account for E85s stoich value so it would just run lean. You'd also need bigger injectors. So no, you can't just use E85 unfortunately

Thank you. I was hoping the tune would see the need for the added fuel and the dual line fuel system would just be dialed up for the demand.

Interesting, I met a guy who used the Advanced Fuel Dynamics E85 kit on a Red Eye and a 93 octane tune with stock injectors and fuel system and works great. I spoke to the guys at Advanced and confirmed that you can run their E85 kit with no other modifications like larger injectors and they said it works fine as well and they have dyno test to back it up. I am looking at also doing the stage 2 mod and then adding AFD E 85 so very interested in any information that’s out there.
