Do any of you really want run of the mill dealer grease monkeys doing this type of work on your Hellcat? I only go to the dealer for oil changes and any possible warranty work.
I took my Hellcat to the dealer I have been using for six years to have the IC coolant pump replaced under warranty with 5,500 miles on the clock. I only have their senior tech work on my car. I also tip him very well.
I told the service advisor that if they are going to R&R the bumper to let me know if they run into any issues as I was going to wait at the dealer. They know I wrap cars and work on $250-million dollar cars and disassemble and reassemble them all the time. Two hours later the car is ready. I gave the advisor $100 to tip the tech. I never had an issue with this dealer and never had to inspect their work. I walked up to the car from the rear got in and drove off. I stopped on the way home to meet a friend for lunch and noticed that they really screwed up installing the front bumper when I looked back at the car. So, I went back to the dealer and spoke to the service manager and the shop foreman, I know dealers have apprentices that work with the lead techs. They both denied it and wouldn't let me speak to the tech. The bumper was all out of alignment where it meets the fender and flares, and they also scratched the PPF on my pass headlight and bubbled the PPF on the same light probably from using a heat gun to try and get it all to line up. Being a widebody they didn't realize that you have to separate the fender flare from the fender where it meets the bumper so the bumper can be pulled off, and the flares are the last thing to reattach once all the hardware is tight.
I left them with a warning that if the bumper needs to be replaced that they were going to be cutting me a fat check for the depreciation. Luckily for them I know what I'm doing and was able to just rewrap the light and remove the bumper to let it relax after being under tension and reinstalled it and lined it up perfect with no help. They also didn't torque the front wheels to spec, when I went to remove them to remove the bumper the lug nuts felt like they were torqued to ~60ftlbs.
It's unfortunate as I drove an hour to this dealer due to not having any decent techs local to me and really trusted them with my car.
This is why I'm the only person who does anything critical on my cars.
So, think twice if you want your Hellcat to be the first one that their tech is going to be learning on.
