I’ve posted about this a while back and still have not been able to get the issue resolved after numerous dealership visits .

I am still getting extremely high Intake air temp readings on my 22 hellcat charger. On the last 90 degree day, I was seeing intake air temps around 183, granted this was after being in stop and go traffic. However my I/C coolant temp never went above 145.
I’m out of ideas and quite frustrated at this point. The dealership keeps telling me that the readings are fine but I’m not buying it. Luckily it’s been cooler so the temps aren’t as high anymore but I still would like the issue resolved.
At this point, I’m almost open to getting rid of the car

I’m sure the pcm pulls fuel too. What I would like to know how is much 75° of iat effects afr if pcm didn’t compensate

When you're not moving????????? "IF" that happens, what harm does it cause?
It’s not that it’s necessarily causing harm, it just shouldn’t be that high. Plus even when you start moving, it’s going to take a while for the temp to drop below 150. Plus when temps are that high, I believe fuel gets pulled too. The PCM is designed to protect the motor in those high temp situations. So far track days, this means that I wouldn’t be making any power by the time I’m staging the car

What do you mean? From my understanding it shouldn’t be that high. Also the car pulls 1 degree of timing for every 5 deg F over 150
Link? Short- or long-term knock retard?

This gauge shows it live time and the ONLY time I have seen anything is under medium to heavy throttle with borderline octane gas. I have NEVER seen any retard at idle, stop-and-go, etc. MYTH BUSTED!

Temps look normal to me. The HC aftercools the charge air. This is not an NA car. It has multiple sensors, like the manifold temp, IC coolant temp, and so on that goes into factoring how and when the PCM pulls timing. NA cars and centri/turbo cars with intercoolers run largely off of IAT, as the air mass has been cooled prior to that point. The HC does not monopolize IAT for timing changes. Hence why most HC owners pay attention to the SC coolant temp, as that is a better indicator of the temp of the air mass entering the manifold. We can't see the manifold temp without some sort of scanner.

The '19-'23s run hotter IATs due to the hood design lacking heat extractors.

Your temps don't seem out of line to me. Maybe a little on the high end of normal, but considering a 93 degree day in stop and go - I've seen temps like that. I'm in South MS so humidity is always high and as long as it drops when you're moving I think it's fine. If you're really worried about it you could look to add an Interchiller or Killer Chiller. Doing that makes even more sense since you mention going to the track.

Good info! Thanks a lot, maybe I’m just being paranoid
