Aw man that's horrible. Details of theft? Just so the rest of us can learn how to better protect our cars. Also you never know, someone somewhere might see something.

truck is likely stolen... at minimum I'd say plates were
I live in the Dallas area. I will keep an eye out, if the numb nuts are stupid enough to drive it.

That is terrible !!! Was it in a public parking lot where it was stolen from? Home ? Work or office? Curious? Nothing worse than having that happen to your ride

it appears that i was followed into the parking lot where i ate lunch. the video shows that they pulled into the parking lot 3 minutes after I pulled in the thought is that they followed me went around the street and came back and pulled in. i actually saw the truck pull in but did not think anything of it as i was on the phone. by the time they backed into the parking space next to my car it was 1 minute and 32 seconds until they drove off with both cars....
i would strongly suggest an anti theft device and perhaps lojack...

Ok hang on. While I do admit that I have a critical fault finding mind I’m still gonna call bs. Don’t all the new cars have gps? The dealer installs a device in every car they build. They have to. They build lotsa cars and need a way to keep track of where each one is at any given moment so they really don’t have a choice about installing one. I can see where my car is in 10 seconds at elo

Yes they have GPS but not for tracking purposes like this. Dealer installs a device in every car they build? Say what? No they do not. And keep track of where your car is at every moment? You lost me there. Basically there is nothing on the car as it delivered from Brampton to help cops who don't even want to waste their time with stolen cars in the first place, find your car. Maybe a dealer will offer some kind of tracking service that you agree to, but to just install it on random cars? That is not happening.

Likely that your dealer installed it and sold it to you as part of the purchase of the car. Some dealers install stuff right off the bat, like dealers in Phoenix almost always have windows tinted on a car before it’s ever sold and then charge the customer for it at a premium when they buy the vehicle.
Others will not install but try to sell it to you at the purchase, then install it if you agree to pay for it. Some shady dealers will put it on your invoice without even telling you about it and if you don’t look at it line by line, you’ll miss it and pay for it without knowing it.
Not saying that you specifically had this happen to you but I’ve bought and sold a lot of cars and every dealer I’ve ever dealt with has tried this in one form or another.

I had Mopar EVTS come pre installed (by the dealer) twice. the second time I had them take it out.

Somebody tried to steal my Hellcat last July, but they didn't get it.
They programmed a key for it, but they couldn't find my kill switch.
Hopefully it's recovered intact. If you get it back, put some good
anti-theft on it immediately!
ETA: Make sure the cops understand the retail value on the car.
They may have had a box that lets them clone his key. The best defense on that is
to put the key fob in one of those faraday pouches so they can't clone it.

Not necessarily.... if it was really 1.5 minutes, that's probably too fast to make a key.

Im thinking this was planned out farther in advance than just following you into a parking lot. If it's a daily driver and they know where you work or live they can program a key whenever. Then just find the right opportunity to grab the car
