I feel your pain and wish that there was a way to disable it. My Scatpack didn't have it and the first time it happened I kind of freaked a bit thinking I somehow hit something..Is there any way to disable the reverse nanny that stops the car if the door isn't closed?
Yes, I have a legitimate reason to do this.
I agree with they won't. I thought I implied that, I guess looking back I could have worded that better. No sorry, highly doubt a dealer would ever turn it off even if he could. This was a safety feature implemented after a famous fatal accident and seriously doubt anyone associated with the company would touch it.

Yeah that's a good idea, fool the BCM that the door is open and the car can't be moved out of park. How does the door switch/sensor work? Can it be spoofed to show its closed all the time?
You mean Chekov? Or was it PickUpNDropov. No sorry, highly doubt a dealer would ever turn it off even if he could. This was a safety feature implemented after a famous fatal accident and seriously doubt anyone associated with the company would touch it.

That doesn't change anything on the 3 vehicles that have this feature. It truly is the stupidest safety feature they've come up with yet. Not the best solution, but try buckling your drivers seatbelt.
Interesting...works on my 2015 Ram (dealer installed the update during a service visit) and my 2021 ChallengerThat doesn't change anything on the 3 vehicles that have this feature.
So buckling your seat belt disables the door open park lock? Interesting.Interesting...works on my 2015 Ram (dealer installed the update during a service visit) and my 2021 Challenger
Not my 2015 300 , 2015 Charger or my ,2019 Ram limited. For some reason my 2016 Hellcat I can open the door and back up. Never tried it with the belt in buckled. So buckling your seat belt disables the door open park lock? Interesting.

Yes, at least on mine it does. My dealer's service writer clued me in on this after I complained that they installed the update on my ram after telling them I didn't want it.So buckling your seat belt disables the door open park lock? Interesting.
