I was cleaning the wheels on my new Red-Eye before putting it away and noticed tiny white specs everywhere on all the wheels.

My first though was paint specs or road debris of some kind splattered on the wheels but there where none anywhere else on the car.

I then tried to clean the wheels and was unable to remove them so I got a magnifying glass to get a closer look (yeah gezzer, quit laughing you'll be there soon enough, lol), sure enough tons of tiny paint chips everywhere.

My Shaker has over 100k Mike's and almost zero chips, the Red-Eye only has 84 miles on it so something is definitely up.

Waiting on call back from dealership. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

Nope tried all that and no luck, which led me to break out the magnifying glass, definitely tiny paint chips on the wheels.

I'll trust you as looking at pictures on my phone with also old eyes is tough, but that almost looks more like tiny fish eyes in the finish which would mean it wasn't prepared properly before being coated.

I'd have to assume dealership with take care of you but keep us posted.

I had the same looking stuff on my car. I used Goo Gone Auto on it. It took about an hour per wheel to get all of it off.

Well took it into the dealer today. The owner, manager of the body shop and his paint guy all looked at the rims and all said they have never seen anything like it before.

Paint guy tried to polish one wheel and said it's definitely chips not debris.

They took a bunch of pictures and filed a claim. Told me they're going to request replacement, but at the very least the wheels will be stripped and repainted.

Glad it's just the wheels am sure it will work out.

Nah I don't think so.

I've know these guys for years and they know I've a relationship with the VP of customer care at Dodge.

When the car arrived we went over it front to back and they double checked everything and made sure it was in order.

There wasn't a single blemesh on wheels or paint.
