At the drag strip I run my MT's around 18-19 psi in the rear. I have regular street tires up front, what psi do you recommend I run up front??

I saw a thread saying around 48-50 psi for the street tires up front but wanted to be sure with you all on what you recommend?

I'm assuming the increase in tire pressure up front will create less rolling resistance but does it really make a difference in your ET times? Thanks

A safe number iirc is 75% of the max psi. Youll reduce rolling resistance but allow room for the air molecules to expand with heat. Although air does have weight Im sure its less than the benefit youll gain from decreasing the rolling resistance.

I don't change my pressure in the fronts usually. I have run them on occasion at 40-42 psi.
My car was delivered at 47 and I drove it a little like that untill I found that out.
The raise in pressure won't be that much in a 1/4 mile run. My drag radials raise about 2-4 psi in the summer.

Why so high? If maximum traction/stopping/turning is at 32, I'd keep it there. I know we're supposed to raise them for sustained high speed, but 13 seconds???????

The op was questioning for drag strip use.
So many raise the front pressure to reduce rolling resistance at the track.
Then lower the pressure for the drive home.

I've run my from 315's Nitto's at 50 psi at the track. Did it make a difference? Not enough to tell.
That is why I don't bother any more.

So it seems like airing up the front tires doesn't make all that much of a difference. I usually have my front tires set at 32 psi each up front when daily driving as per what the inside of the driver side door psi level recommends, so I might as well just leave it at that?
