I'm considering cancelling my JB order and getting a SS; it has most options I want. Only thing is I plan to drive it almost daily in the summer and drag radials won't cut in in the rain, need to figure out this tire issue.

What are you guys using for tires if I want to replace them with summer tires that are good for the rain? I did a quick search and that size is very limited and some nitto's pop up. I looked on this forum and many posts say they are discontinued are very hard to get?

What the current status on getting street tires for an SS?

I’m looking for new wheels myself, switching to 17” in the back, but keeping 18” in the front. I don’t want to put the NT05’s in the front because they pick up too many rocks, and just in case I get caught in the rain. This is the best choice I’ve been able to find so far:

Plenty of 20” tire choices, and hundreds of wheel choices. But less sidewall = less traction, and that’s no bueno for me. It’s already impossible to get the 18’s to stick.

I spent the past year working with 2 vendors, both on this site, to make a 17” Demon reproduction. I struck out with both. Something about not being able to get the 17” barrels.

I'd go 17" if they matched the SS... But once again, doesn't seem like an option. 🙄

Can’t speak to the rain handling, but I would think they would be decent? They are R2’s, so they’ll be super soft and still pick up a ton of rocks though.

I run RII's in a 315R20 on my WB and they are pretty darn decent during wet, smart driving. They may be my only solution. And yes.. they do seem to get sticky pretty easily and yes, they do throw stones.

It’s a street comp tire. Just like any other street tire it won’t hook on the street (or anywhere else ha) BUT it does purdy good in the rain and will fit yer stock wheel. Half the cost of those nittos same results

Well, you might call your dealer first. Saw a lot of chatter online that SS orders are on hold until further notice right now.

I have this tire (in a 20") on my 18' WB and it is considerably better that the stock WB All Season. I now run it as a front tire against the rear RII. in an 18", I've read that it's discontinued and I've had a relatively hard time finding it for a price worth the buy. Please keep us posted if you find anything..
