Challenger Hellcat inbound to Fair Oaks Dodge in VA. MSRP + tax/title/$589 doc fee. Grab it quick, just got done communicating with them but we have decided to go another direction. Car is slated to be in on the 18th but the weather will probably delay that. Here is your chance someone!!

Sublime
A8
Laguna
Nav
Summer tires.

Call Hoyt Sabo, 703-961-9900, can tell him you just heard this from RJ

No need to call Hoyt folks. I just bought this car.... Paperwork in progress

Thanks RJ. It's ironic for two reasons... First, I originally wanted Sublime but felt it was too flashy. Second, today is my birthday...

RJ... I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I've got a Jazz Blue on order (see my sig). I only ordered about five or so weeks ago. I don't mind waiting for a car but I just don't have high confidence the car will ever come through at this point.

I've called dozens and dozens of dealers inquiring on available cars. Spoke with a few gentlemen/women and a lot of people that quite frankly amaze me (in a bad way). Cars are either sold or have ridiculous ADM which I'm not willing to pay (and I the people I've spoken with are holding out which I don't like but I understand).

My number one must have option was the A8..... The other options all depend on the car. There are several colors I really like. I love the retro of Sublime but thought it was too flashy for me. I like to stay under the radar. Obviously I'm over that! I also didn't order the Laguna seats (they do nothing for me but I"m OK with having them). I would actually prefer the All Season tires (I'm in the northeast) but again, I'm OK with the summer tires.

Hoyt was a gentlemen and I'm looking forward to doing the deal with him. He seems easy to work with and I'm the same way.

Thanks again. How about if I get you some Hellcat swag as a token of my appreciation? Is their a shirt, hat or something else Hellcat that you want?

i think you owe him more than a tee shirt.....maybe a HC supercharged fling at a trucker rest station(just kidding)

congrats...love to hear this stuff.....my first try was a deal just like this that i missed by a day or 2......

you will be happy with the color....the seats are really nice..i didnt want the leather either, but they are real soft and nice....the tag on the back of the passenger seat tells you about how great and high end they are....you will feel like a king on a throne in the dodge fatty version of recaros........do you agree they are made for someone 250-300lbs??? im 205 and im loose in them
I agree I own RJ more than some swag!! It was just a token of my appreciation. Sitting down for dinner and a few beverages of choice would be nice but we are too far away.

I love the color.... I just thought it maybe to flashy for me every day. Trust me I'm over it. I'm happy to have the opportunity to purchase this beast. The Hellcat is all about attitude anyway... Might as well have attitude in the paint too. I'm also fine with the Laguna seats. I drove SRT392's with both standard and Laguna seats (actually drove the alcantera and just sat in the other one). I like the alcantera inserts a lot.. They grab your butt and with 707HP I'm sure that is a good thing. Same seat, different cover. I would have passed on Laguna's but I'm OK with them too. I'm about 185 and I agree they are a big seat.

Thanks for the offer but just enjoy the car and I hope the deal closes out OK for you. Return the same type of favor to someone else in life some day in whatever they may want! All my communication was through email but Hoyt seemed like a straight shooter. I was surprised when he replied with MSRP being OK. In the long run though we really like B5 and the dealership we deal with so we'll take the risk of getting the order filled. I know the chance of finding one on a lot will be rare. Have fun & be safe.
Well if you change your mind let me know. It's the least I can do. I try to do something nice for someone every day. Sometimes something little sometimes it's bigger. My wife is like that too. I will definitely do my best to pay it forward.

Immediately my first impression of Hoyt on the phone was that he was low key and a straight shooter. I realize that a deal isn't done until I have the car but he has my deposit already and everything he said he was going to do is in progress. I'm very straight forward and I work efficiently so if they are serious (and I have every reason to believe they are based on my working with Hoyt so far) it will happen. Well see what happens and you guys will be the first to know (good or bad). Thanks again.

Awesome SRT. Glad to see ya got it man! These forums and the people on them are a blessing to this messed up process.
Thanks... I just happen to peek at the forum. The post from RJ was 42 minutes old. I thought.... darn I bet I missed that opportunity. Then I said what the heck.... I called my wife first (we always do that on big purchases out of respect for each other). She said, what the heck are talking to me for.. Go call... LOL (she is a good woman). Then I called Hoyt.

That is some birthday present SRT. Good job :)
Yes, I'm not much for presents and I don't make a big deal out of birthdays but I think I've outdone myself by a long shot here ;)

. I'm about 185 and I agree they are a big seat.
at 185 you may need some velcro on your back to stay in your big man seat
Waddya saying. I need to sit on a pillow and strap myself into the seat... LOL. :) I'll make the sacrifice.

Damn - this past year I lost 90 lbs; looks like all those egg whites and salads were a big mistake!

(But I do fit better into my '61 'vette; that steering wheel is pretty un-forgiving).
Congrats on the weight loss. That's a significant loss and no easy task!

If your this excited and haven't even seen the car yet you might want to take an extra pair of underwear in the event you lose control of yourself when you pick it up. Congrats on the car, I hope the deal goes as expected and the car is everything you want it to be. BTW, nice color choice!
Dodge should supply a pair of depends with each new Hellcat. This way you don't have to worry about soiling the interior first time out (I kill myself). ;)

Agree doc fees are fairly high if you ask me, but I would have paid it.
The doc fees are higher than I'm used to. Not sure about VA but here the doc fees are mandatory to be consistent within a dealership... meaning everyone that buys from this dealer pays the same doc fee (avoids the dealer messing with doc fees to make more money). There is also some other tax of $100ish (some VA business license tax or something). Honestly I'm not going to quibble about doc fees. So far Hoyt has been very decent and they are selling at MSRP. No complaints here. I'm more than willing to pay the necessary doc fees.

Between the Laguna I couldn't care less about, their high doc fees, and a couple other stupid taxes between VA and/or MD the car was going to be nearly $3000 more than what I have ordered. Throw that into it not be the color the wife and I both really want I dropped out once the final prices were broken down to me. I did let Hoyt know this though, and also let him know I was going to tell others and I could almost assure him he'll sell the car by night's end! So I held both ends of a bargain!

Have to ask one thing though here: I have 4 folks ahead of me at my dealer we do a solid amount of business with and has always come through in the past but this may simply be a numbers game this time. I know there are not many B5's out there yet, and may not be many period for this year, but I'd be much obliged if anyone finds one or comes across one for MSRP that they can pass along ;) . Main requirements are A8 and black wheels and eastern U.S.A. My wife and I's jobs, and more so our young children, don't allow the luxury to spend a couple days going to get it.
You KNOW I'll have my eye out for you. I hope you find exactly what you want...

Damn It! Congrats SRT_HC_707! That's the exact car I have ordered minus brass monkeys. I wish I had been online when Tannehill posted this. Oh well, HuggyTree Voodoo states more opportunities will come.

Great catch, and I'm sure glad another forum member got it.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Bro! What a great gift.
I'll keep my eye out for you. Hopefully your order materializes OR you find something on the dealer lot and the timing all works out.

Probably the best birthday present you will ever get ! Congrats
No doubt in my mind. How do you top a Hellcat!!! Heck if I could have a new Ferrari or a Hellcat (forget about cost here... I"m speaking hypothetically, I can't afford no damn Ferrari anyway LOL). I'd take the Hellcat
