Redeyes I think, and SS/Demon for sure go from Brampton to Detroit to assembly2 for addons (not sure which) before going to dealer. Or at least that was the trip last year for SS's anyhow.
It's not the car, it's the tires. Drag radials and going on that standard car carrier do not mix so they must go go enclosed. Even Scat Pack 1320 is delivered in an enclosed transporter.
From Brampton to Upfitter they go open with the blue wheels and 275s then after Upfitter with the drag radials it's enclosed to protect the tires.
It's completely up to the shipping company. Most logistics pathways in the US rely upon a regional hub. Cars come via rail, boat, or truck to those hub centers. From there, they go to the local dealership. That last leg often uses local shippers, and they may or may not use an enclosed trailer. Most of the overland long haul shipping trucks are going to be bulk auto carriers (open).
