So I’ve developed this squeak/whine over the past 2k miles and I can’t ignore it any longer. This is the car at idle. The noise is audible from inside of the car as well. 16k miles on this A8 2018 hellcat.
Goes in on November 1st for a check on this and a drone/humming noise that starts at about 70 mph and gets progressively faster the faster the car accelerates. I will get a video of that from in the cabin and post here as well. Hellcat squeak/whining noise…BAD??

Also yes I saw the star screw on the SC was backed out quite a bit. Not sure how the hell that happens since it has never been off of the block 🧐 I did tighten it back down.

That was my guess as well. Fingers crossed that my tech looks out and submits a STAR case ASAP. I’ve got another noise that I have no idea what it could be from. It gives a slight vibrational feedback as a noise and through the front end of the car. Will post soon

Took it to the dealer and he put a stethoscope around the entire thing. Couldn't pin point any specific area. We will dig into it deeper on Nov 1st. The squeaking does get a bit faster and more pronounce while decelerating

This is the second noise that is coming from inside the cabin. I best describe it as a vibration noise that sounds like something rotating every 1-2 seconds. It’s a deep noise. Vibrational noise. Can be heard inside the cabin. 2018 A8 Hellcat Widebody. What is it????

Drive shaft seems to be completely fine and has no play. Just changed my diff fluid and there was very little if any metal shavings. Fluid was on the cleaner side actually. Slight whine coming from it but all of my 392’s and hellcat have had some diff whine with proper break in procedures.

Dodge tech diagnosed this as a bad supercharger bearing. New SC is now on order.

See if it changes when you put a socket on the supercharger tensioner.

lol kinda new to the site. I had a similar issue that's why I jumped on it. Ended up swapping my SC as well. The noise changes with the tensioner they confirmed pulley issue inside SC.

It's good that you jumped in there with similar symptoms and diagnosis.
That is a big part of what the forum is for.
