New member, i tried to search people having the same problems as me. But I can’t find anything close to what I got going on. When I’m in first gear accelerating, the whine gradually gets louder like it’s supposed to, but when the engine shifts, it stays at sound level from the last gear. It doesn’t give you that up down, up down sound level. Like the whine doesn’t match the engines RPMs, I’ll have a low whine with high engine RPMs, not to mention there’s a significant power loss. And sometimes I’ll have a bit higher whine that maintains and doesn’t decrease in sound when the RPMs are declining as if the pulley is just spinning and disregarding the belt.

I had a Litens hellraiser 2.85 pulley that failed on me before. This is my second one. But the first one completely disintegrated. This one is fully in tact. Not sure if it’s my blower or the pulley and belt. Current set up, 1300cc ID, 180° thermostat, 10% ATI lower, HHP WalBro 525LPH returnless dual fuel pump, LMI intake, 2.85 Litens hellraiser upper.

Do you have a tensioner on the belt, it is not advised to run one with a Hellraiser. Is the pulley properly shimmed and spaced from the snout? Also what belt length are you running. Lots of variables here. Miles on the supercharger?
No tensioner. Gates HD belt. 13k miles on the supercharger. 2020. Attaching a pic to see what you think about space.

Off topic. How much HP and boost with that combo?

93 or E85?

You're not supposed to run a Gates belt on a Litens pulley. They provide a belt with the pulley. Supposedly the Gates is too stiff and will damage the pulley. This may be why you damaged one pulley already. I had a Litens 2.85 on my Hellcat for over a year without any issues, I used the included belt.

But Dodge ships gates belts with the REs...
The aftermarket Litens Hellraiser pullies come with a belt and they specifically state not to use any other belt with them or it could cause damage. It never made any sense to me but I've seen quite a few ruined after using a Gates belt.

I am running the stock Hellcat belt with my 2.85 Litens pulley, but I have the spacer plates so it was the right length. Around 100 1/8 mile runs and no issues, knock on wood.

Is this something I should change, Blkout? Or is the issue, really, the heavy duty belt like Gates HD belt?

I used their belt on the first pulley I had… still failed…

Any other modifications that could have affected it? I am just seeking information, not trying to debate about it. Performance parts fail on occasion, regardless sometimes. Thanks for the info, daytonakid.

Just telling you what they state. it could be that yours isn't shimmed correctly then, especially if you have another failing.

According to Litens and there's a whole thread about it here somewhere if you search for it, the Gates HD belt doesn't stretch enough so it can cause them to fail. I questioned it when they were first released and thought it was obsurd that the product would be sensitive to a belt change. They wouldn't respond other than to say you should use the belt that comes with the pulley because that's how it was tested.

Those Litens pulleys ships with Bando brand belts. I just figured Litens had a monetary relationship with Bando.
I thought the same, as did many others here at that time when they were released. I'll never know but I was just quoting them. There's a whole thread about it here somewhere.

I can’t think of anything else. The entire build with regards to mods I posted… I appreciate any feedback given truly HC5120
