Ordered 10/17/2014, and in Von hell. My order is for an A8, which we all know will be pushed to 2016 model. So, that means I bet I don't get a car until late 2015 (Nov-Dec) early 2016 maybe.

We can also assume the price will be going up, and who knows if we get price protected. I am in the business of sales, and when demand is high for my product we push the price until no one is buying. Can't blame them for doing it also. But we do price protect if someone already put in an order, I don't expect dodge to do the same.

I just built on line a 2015 Mustang GT Shelby for 47k, 625HP supercharged. And it looks nice! That's 20k cheaper. Family pressuring me to go get one. If the Z06 were at the same price point as the Hellcat, it would be an easier sale. Really want a Hellcat, but just so sick of all the BS.

I am in the same boat as you and keep looking at the stangs and Vettes. I just think about how much Stangs and Vettes are valued at after a couple of years and see the value just going down! Value holds strong on this beast.


I am riding this out man and just told myself that I won't get the car until the end of the year so that I don't get my hopes up.

If you look around, there are Vettes all over the place. I drove by the Ford dealer in Katy yesterday, there are a zillion Mustangs. You see them by the 100's. I got my Cat last Tuesday. Knowing, what I know now, I would do whatever I had to do to get a Hellcat.

a, certainly your call. I would find the Shelby forum and see what their chatter is all about. Perhaps you already have. If, after perusing that site and things seem to be going smoothly, thats more info to help with your decision. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener, but could be in this case. Hope you hang in there and wait for the kitty, but I understand the frustration.

Funny how several months or even weeks ago, paying 4K over was frowned upon......now some consider it sheer genius...not all but some. You have had your HC for 4+months now, no more VON hell tremors and life is good.

Shelbies are everywhere. Hellcat I have yet to see one on a daily basis. Hope you wait but in the end it's up to you.

If time is on your side you could just wait it out. But if you need a car soon and you want a Hellcat and if you are prepared to be flexible on colour and options, you may find one (be prepared to travel). Quite a few folks on here (including myself) have found one at a dealer or in transit within just a few weeks of intense searching. Being prepared to go 5 - 10+ MSRP will increase your chances substantially.

Sounds like the family like the Mustang (I assume they like the price as there will be no room in there for them).

I'd wait my friend. You WILL be kicking yourself later on down the road. While the Vettes and Mustangs are nice the Hellcat is in a whole other league. I'm not talking 0-60 times or 1/4 mile times, I'm talking about the entire experience of driving/owning one. Its one of a kind.

I've said it a million times, I'll say it again....... IT'S WORTH THE WAIT

atrabuls, Just a suggestion........... Create a new thread titled "Help me find my Hellcat" and spell out what you want. Won't cost anything and if you get lucky, maybe someone will come across one unspoken for. It's happened too many times to count on this very forum. Be willing to travel and drive it home, and in a worst case scenario, could you live with a Torred A8 with Nav? As others have said, don't bail until you've exhausted all possibilities. I jumped off of the BF train back in January and never looked back.

sigh, Dodge cashed my $5000.00 deposit check in July of 2014. I have had my VON since Sept. 09, 2014. the first day you could enter an order for a Hellcat. and I am still waiting... so put on your big girl panties and suck it up line the rest of us and wait... 2016... sigh... Dodge has let us all down... all we can do is stand together on this one....
