I've got two sections of what looks like tape under my hood. Does this serve any function or is it some sort of shipping protection thing the clean up crew missed?

It's to protect rub spots, check on another thread that Brampton Builder chimed in on about it. Mine has them also, its normal

There really for nothing, there is no contact points there,, there are also two on the trunk lid,,I think it just gives it's something to talk about, lol

If they weren't for nothing dodge wouldn't be spending the money putting them on. The fascia tends to push towards the hood at speed so these stop the paint from being rubbed off

Yes the trunk tends to move around and the tape patches are placed where the adjustment bumpers contact the decklid

I may or may not of removed the ones under the hood

So how critical are they?

On my hood I have only the two clear stickers. The other stickers on your hood are on my radiator support.... That's odd.

That's why I was confused about Jungle Jim 's build label placement in the center of the cowl. The cowl labels must be on his hood. I'm not sure whether I like them better on the hood or the cowl.

Exactly, I have to think that there is ONE place that these labels go per Dodge... Maybe Brampton Builder can enlighten us on the label placement (hood vs. radiator support).

The really funny part is that Jungle Jim 's car and mine WERE BOTH BUILT THE SAME DAY and our labels are in two different locations. I'm build number 589 and Jungle Jim is 619. Maybe Brampton Builder can shed some light on this?

Oh okay. Your labels ARE on the radiator support and not on the hood. I guess the labels do not have a specific location.
