I see the value in the model S plaid and its 9s capable platform. But being a life long racer, I love the idea of taking a car and chipping away at ETs while improving on the car's dynamics and power.

But the plaid is basically an appliance. Its one and done. Maybe a tenth up or down based on SOC or traction or even temps, but how boring.

You get the car, make your 1 hero pass then you're done. wow...wow... Or you spend the life of the car chasing a hundredth up and down and thats it. Or you have to gut your $130k electric appliance to get another few tenths.

Not something your normal car guy would be interested in. I think they are cool, but not for the enthusiast.

Plus it's forever hive linked, subject to remote management at any time, not user serviceable on any important level, and arguably worthless when the battery expires.
