Sick of everyone giving me the plaid talk and how it is faster than Demon or Hellcat.....
it is a different beast, definitely in a different price class than a Hellcat.
$141k out the door after all fees for my state.
Zero down, 60 month, 3.0 apr, $2,420 payment.
Just used 3% as an average.

The body style does absolutely nothing for me.

Did you just answer a question that no one asked?
Lmao, yes, I did.
Just venting I guess.
Family in law in town for funeral, have a hipster dip schitt cousin that is bragging about a plaid that he doesn't own, but owns a little pos tesla.

I run 17 beadlocks with MT 315 50 17s at 22 psi all the time, unless taking a trip.
I got traction lol.
I just don't drive in salt with my car.

I have 3 sets of wheels and tires for my car, including a full Weld/Mickey drag pack. It won't help you in the rain. Or the cold. Or on asphalt. Or on concrete with some debris or where oil has dripped. I love your car and build. Extremely thorough. I'm sure on a prepped track it is a monster. But out in the real world, the AWD Teslas rule.
What is your current best pass on your race gas tune?

I would never buy one. First of all I don't have the scratch to put down $140K on a car and I'm strictly an ICE man. That being said, I got a chance to drive one of those suckers. Only about a mile transporting it to get the windows tinted. It is scary fast. 1020hp with all-wheel drive the G forces plunge you back into the seat. Quite the experience but like I said I'd never own one.

Yeah anything with 1,000+ HP is going to be nuts. Can’t deny the performance at all but it’s just not the experience I’m looking for and if I cared about being the fastest thing on the road I wouldn’t have picked this vehicle.

If I'm spending that much I'm going Porsche EV route. That car is awesome, looks nice, is nearly as fast and doesn't have the stupid 1980's style arcade steering wheel.

I do like Elon though as he has FU money and as such says what he wants with no care. As such I wouldn't mind a Tesla in the stable for DD work commute if they were a bit more reasonably priced for the ones that get good distance and speed.

Its not the most attractive vehicle but then again, I say that about all Tesla's. It is however a serious performer and amazingly consistent, that can't be denied. All I can really say about Tesla is that they have been game changers for EVs. They are a preview of what's to come later. Prices will fall in time. Even the Model 3 which is about $40k is blistering quick.

This might be a stupid question, but have any of you seen the video of the guy from Finland who blew up his Tesla because they quoted him $22,000 to replace the battery??? It's [now] all over the internet if you haven't.....on You Tube. Oh, and now we know how long the battery lasts in a Tesla....and how long it's warrantied for. This guys car was a 2013 model. Warranty expired. He said it was a wonderful car....for the first 6 months. Then error codes started popping up, and eventually, the car started spending more time in the shop, than on the road.

There's lemons in any vehicle, EV or ICE. Its always the negative reports that get the most attention. You rarely ever hear about the thousands of other owners that have had their cars since 2013 and never had an issue.

So... You're ok with forking out $22,000 for a new battery. Ok. That's your perogative. I DID have a big, long comment on this, but I deleted it in favor of keeping the peace, and obeying the forum's rules. Suffice to say, there are a ton of negatives to battery power that you will NEVER....EVER.....hear about from CNN, NBC, et al, or Google, or Facebook, et al. Just one example: the fact that cold temperatures DO affect the life and performance of ANY battery. Why do you think COLD CRANKING AMPS are so important to car batteries in parts of the world that experience cold temperatures??? So what are people who live in places like Alaska, (especially northern Alaska), FINLAND, Sweden, Poland, Norway, and Siberia and/or northern Russia supposed to do??? Gasoline, (in whatever form), will ALWAYS burn....no matter what the temperature is. Anyone who's lived and/or worked in Antarctica can vouch for this. I will concede that there are ICE lemons out there as well. I've even seen recalls for the Hellcat. But it makes me angry when people treat battery power like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, and never want to acknowledge that there are ANY....negatives, to battery power. Or that there are ENVIRONMENTALLY HEALTHY alternatives to BOTH batteries, and gasoline. Ever heard of Hydrogen??? My sincere apologies for this comment getting long as well. I have a gift for lengthy comments stemming from 8 years in college, and 3 degrees. I literally have lost track of how many research papers I've written.

Not really but battery technology will improve and prices will come down over time. I recently spoke with someone that owns 2 Prius Hybrids, one that had over 300K miles on it, she said that she only replaced the battery pack once. I asked how much it cost because years ago I heard it was about $10k not long after the Prius launched, she said it was right at $1K for the battery and her husband swapped it out. I thought that was a pretty reasonable expense for a 300K mile vehicle and only having to replace it once in 300K miles. I understand an EV battery pack is going to wear out quicker since its in use more often, I also understand that temperatures play a role in longevity. That being said for the price of a Tesla and the fact that its a low volume vehicle, maintenance expense is going to be higher. If he's just now replacing the battery in a 2013 model vehicle that has been in a cold environment its whole life, I'd say he got a LOT of life out of that battery pack.

And for the record, I never stated there aren't any negatives to EVs. I think we all know their limitations and environmental impacts by now. I'm a fan of performance hybrids personally, like some of the modern day hypercars.
