the hellcat gets respect

1276 10
My dealer had a fundraiser at Willow Springs yesterday. We were on the Big Willow course and, as you'd expect, most of his clients brought their Ferraris or Porsches. Jaguar F type Rs and Corvettes also were well represented.

Although far from the ideal tool for a twisting course with elevation changes, I thought it would be fun to bring the cat out to play.

Let me be clear, I'm probably one of the worst track drivers in the universe. I don't understand lines and I haven't a clue about braking. I carried almost zero speed into the straightaways. I suck. That said, no one could accelerate with me on the straightway. It was freaking awesome.

When I came off the track and popped the hood to cool her down, it got the biggest crowd of the day.

The ferrari guys were the most interested and appreciative of the cat which I found interesting.

A woman told me that the hellcat roar on the straightaway was far and away the best sound of the day. Mind you, she's comparing the cat to cars well into the 6 figure range.

I'm rambling, but owners of this car should be proud.

Thanks, guys! F6F, I'm truly excited for you. This is a rare case where the reality exceeds the fantasy.

My girlfriend was my designated photographer, but I nauseated her with my driving so these are the only pics we came away with...

Thanks, all.

Definitely better safe than sorry...although I was definitely a bit of a sissy.

Good call on the driving school...definitely going to sign up. Yesterday was an eye opener.

I took a picture for you...please forgive me, still dirty from the track...

I had it wrapped.

I'm having the roof wrapped to match on Tuesday.

This car is the best purchase I've ever made. It's really a joy. Even in LA traffic

By the way; averaged 25 mpg on the 78 mile drive home yesterday. Absurd.
