What is it like owning a hellcat or other performance cars and living in Florida?? Is it strict down there? Is gas and other maintenance related stuff expensive? And how’s the traffic?

Bought this to keep in Florida. I’m a Kommiefornian. Saved big bucks on taxes and registration, about $3k. Central Florida. Lots of fun secondaries and traffic drops off after drive time unlike San Jose. Try to stay off of I-4. Cheaper gas with higher octane a bonus.

Looking to move but can’t decide where
In my experience living just north of Tampa, it takes a LOT to get pulled over from speeding. The County cops have their work cut out with all the meth heads near the gulf coast, to be bothered with speeders. You know how everyone says about cops "dont you have anything better to do??", down here they actually do. You have to try REALLY hard to get pulled over from speeding. Now the Florida state highway patrol, thats a different story. Be nice on the highways and you will be fine.
Gas is cheaper than most places around the country. I came from the midwest and its still cheaper here than up north. Car insurance is 2x the cost though because Florida is a not at fault state and you will find the world's worst drivers here. Mostly the diks from NY and NJ that come here thinking they own the roads.
Aside from that, this is a nice place to be a car guy. You can drive them year 'round and there is plenty to do and see while enjoying your car.

Yes Florida winter is basically summer for the rest of the country. Because its so hot and basically thunderstorms every day late in the day, there isn't much to do outside unless you want to sweat or get wet. But once the dry season comes (fall through spring), its gods gift down here. 70-80 and perfectly clear blue sky sunny every day. And maybe dips into the low 60s or high 50s overnight. And thats here in centralish FL. If you go farther south past the subtropic line, its about 10* warmer than that for them. It can be miserable in the summer here but October through May makes up for it with absolutely perfect weather.
Is it a clean state?
Same here we came from McHenry, IL three years ago.

I lived in Arnold Missouri for 21 years and I can say it also sucks compared to Tampa. I’m actually in Wesley Chapel area, a hair north of Tampa. The Mopar scene is ridiculous here, the people are awesome, I I love all things you can do. If you ever need any insight hit me up. Oh and thank to Desantis, you actually have freedom of choice. Screw Biden and his socialist party!

Timely thread.. I am moving from WI to Brandon,FL area in 2 weeks. looking forward to driving my cars year round... I've spent a lot of time in the state over the years so I'm pretty familiar. I was SHOCKED at car insurance cost. as said above..2x what I pay now.
