I was able to recover my 2021 Redeye within 8-12 hours after it was stolen
Broken passenger window, shark fin antennae wires cut, navigation wires cut, horn, neutral strap pulled, console scratched, rim scratched, rear bumper cover scraped and rear light bar scratched.

USAA insurance I got multiple estimates. Took it to a place that is the best and I’ve used before for other custom work, Royal Coach Bartlett. Initial estimates all around 6800.00. They sent pictures to a USAA independent estimates agent. They wrote me a check for 2100.00 and said have a nice day. Luckily the owner of Royal Coach has worked with a USAA supervisor previously and got him to handle my claim start to finish.
2 months later with waiting for B/O parts etc. I just got the car back. Total damage 20,000.00. They had to replace the nav system and ended up replacing the entire dash board because thiefs managed to break brackets when they pulled the nav to cut the wires.
I did some research and took the car to S and A Security in Chicago. I got the IGLA pin code security system with Compustar remote. You make up a code using the paddles and steering wheel buttons that only you know. Thieves cannot start the car without the code. I also had a Drone Mobile security system installed which has a separate loud alarm if the car is moved, tilted, bumped, broken window. I will also be notified on my phone and my new compustar remote. You can turn the car on or off with your phone as well. Only 2 guys do the install, the owner and installer. So only they know how things are wired and where stuff is put. I also installed a neutral pull cover with rare style bolts. I was naive thinking my car is safe in a small group locked parking garage. I am concerned with thieves breaking my window then finding out I have a serious alarm system now. I don’t need another insurance claim. So I also got 2 nice heavy duty wide wheel boot locks when parked at home. Hoping this will detour any thief to look for easier prey. I just heard this quote on the show ALIVE. “ I don’t have to outrun the bear I only have to out run my friends.” Lol
I mainly wrote this to tell you all, just buck up and get it installed. Don’t be foolish like me and get it stolen before you invest in your cars safety. If someone is going to steal my baby now, it’s a full commitment.

So did USAA eventually agree to all the supplemental bills to the total price of $20K (minus your deductible of course).
I had a similar experience with our Chrysler 300C 10 years ago when a tree branch fell on the roof while my wife was driving the car - in additon to denting the roof, it shattered the sunroof. Luckily the shade was pulled because it filled up with 30 lbs of glass shards which if it had not been there would have blinded her. The USAA adjuster tried to make the shop install a used sunroof mechanism and the owner balked and told him not only was that not gonna happen but the entire roof panel has to be replaced in addition to installing a complete factory new sunroof system, because it is welded to the roof structure. The adjuster had zero experience in this type of accident damage and was completely schooled by the shop owner. After I contacted USAA repeatedly they assigned a new adjuster who agreed with all the recomendations the shop made. The claim went from $1000 to $7000 and was fully paid directly to the shop.

And this is why I wont ever have another car with a glass sunroof!

Thanks for sharing your information.

I keep my baby parked in my garage. Connected to my home alarm security system. I have a lot of indoor/outdoor cameras. Even security camera’s inside/outside my garage.

Yea, it’s a little paranoid and overkill. But It gives me peace of mind.
And that's how you keep it from being stolen. It's not paranoia if it's true. It means you're prepared.

Glad you got it all sorted out. I will be getting the IGLA system myself. Love the fact that it requires a "pin" to start the car. The other 2 benefits of the system that sold me on it are the car jack mode and the fact you can't program additional keys unless the system is disabled.

Having had USAA for 20 years I’m sure they paid every dime other than the deductible

Good ol insurance claims. Tried to get Hagerty to insure my 2020 for 100k and they are balking about the value and don’t want to cover it for that much. F them I’ll stick with aaa.

my goal is never need to make a claim, however you never know what can happen. This is why we can’t have nice things

not to be a d^%$, very glad you got it back!!
Wheel boots may do nothing... what's to stop a crew from coming back to your car after 'spotting it' with a jack and spare wheels?...roll it out of the parking spot and tow it off. Starting it up then & there , or even getting in wont matter in that case either.
Repo guys are known to do it.

All the boots are for is to deter the below average thief and by some time for the better than average thief. The security system of the car will go off if the car is tilted bumped or broken, and I will be immediately notified. They cannot put the car in neutral. I think it’ll be tough for anyone to actually leave with the car. What i think 2nd amend. meant is- Don’t for a second think you are safe while driving this thing around the Chicagoland area. I have to be smart, cautious and pay attention in all situations especially at stop lights, getting gas, and while washing the car. That’s just my opinion.
