What's the story with the stripes?
Not a fan of those but whatever floats his boat. Kind of a random post - "active"? Not sure I get it lol.

Pretty sure he wants to see more discussion amongst the DD Hellcat guys. Although I feel that should happen organically when people have something to ask, or something to share. But hey, this works too.

They really need to create a separate forum here for the Durango Hellcat, instead of it being lumped in with the Durango SRT.

I think we may be trading our Durango Hellcat in soon for a Tesla Model X Plaid. The wife fell in love with the Model X a few days ago after riding in one.

I get it. If you don't need the extra 3,700 lbs of towing capacity, its hard to make a case for the DHC over a X Plaid. The fuel savings alone will make up a huge chunk of the price difference. A bone stock, completely silent, made in America, 9 second SUV is bad ass.

since this thought came across my mind too and I still haven’t gotten my DD Hellcat, I know I can flip it and make profit. But here are my thoughts (mine comes in 2 weeks).
1. The build quality issues from Tesla makes Dodge look like Lexus.
2. The seating ‘capacity’ of the Plaid could get you to seven (if that was a must) but seat for seat and space for space, you wont beat the Durango. Far more spacious.
3. Zero sound will come from the model X other than road and tire noise.
4. The Tesla doesn’t look anymore special than every other tesla out there… DD hellcat doesn’t gain much here, but its got a more aggressive looking hood and with stripes its even more standoutish.
5. Tesla definitely faster.
6. Resale on Durango is gonna be strong for years, Tesla will only be a year until a new iPhone version of it comes out or they make a new model year.
7. Your wife is the unknown, a heart wants what a heart wants, women can’t be reasoned with. Say your goodbyes to the Durango. Good news is, you’ve lost no money on that one.

I always laugh a little when I hear people say the fuel savings will eventually even out the higher buy-in cost of an EV. You have control over how much you drive and so it is really up to you how much you spend (or don't) on fuel. But with the higher priced EV you have now basically pre-paid all in for the mileage that you may or not ever actually drive. Yes all things being equal, meaning after a certain number of miles the EV should recoup the extra cost. But what about people who don't drive that many miles? They have paid for miles they wont use. I don't like the fuel savings cost equalizer argument because there are too many variables/loopholes.

I don't disagree with of all your points. Number 7 typically seals the deal though.

Yea, its smaller than the Durango and won't tow as much as you stated. It won't sound like a V-8 and build quality is probably worse. My wife goes through vehicles like poop through a goose.

Consider 'going to hells 19' solution, seems reasonable, except when you consider how much MORE that would cost you than a plaid or Hellcat DD. lol
