Most ridiculous phenomenon ever besides leaving the plastic on furniture.
I know right!

Thanks for posting. Totally makes sense, leaving them on too long for debris, moisture, etc. to collect.

Sub'd to your channel too.
Cool, thanks! Good vids on car buying advice and I do weekly lease rates from CC.

I love those yellow guards...made myself $100 on eBay after I took them off... o_O
Haha, yea I have sold a couple pairs myself!

And wearing your hat and boots with tags still on. Those guys just make people laugh.

One reason to leave them on is they act to let the leading spoiler lip ride up and onto something the spoiler might otherwise come into contact with.

While I try to stop just short to avoid running the spoiler over the in this case the sidewalk I'm not always successful. The car is so large/wide my usual technique of using the outside mirror housing and the sidewalk to know how far to pull the car in is not always available to me.

I drove mine home with them on, but the next morning I removed them. For the short time they were on, a lot of debri was as caught underneath. Thankfully, no scratches.

That's why I back in when there's a curb. Backup camera FTW.
Heck... I back in everywhere. With curbs, I don't want the front near it. With normal two-car rows of parking spots, I'd rather the person in the other row hits the back of my car if they pull in too deep than the front. I back into my garage. Basically, reverse is for the end of every trip, not the start.

There's a guy at work that has a B5 5.7 Charger Daytona. The car is always filthy (and that was before the snow started flying), but he still has those damn yellow bumper guards on. I don't know why he's trying to "protect" it when it's always trashed, and I can't imagine how bad the paint is on his car under those things. Maybe he has no idea they were supposed to be removed...

I hate them. Mine are going up for sale this weekend. Been sitting in a box for almost a year.

My understanding is that the bumper is not very expensive to replace. I think it was posted here somewhere. I already have some minor scrapes from curbs. Maybe I should take a poll of who has scrapes and who doesn't.

Much like a condom, once they have served their purpose, they should be removed and discarded. If not, too much crusty stuff will build up and the very thing they are to protect will never look right again. Most guys don't like to drive with them on, it just does not feel as good.
