Had a 2016 Hellcat came in on trade at our dealership...here's a quick video of what happens when they are left on too long...

Why would you leave that on all the time? At least take them off when you wash the car. That's like leaving your underwear on when you're having sex.

Mine were in the trunk when the car appeared magically on the car fairy trailer; I didn't realize people would by them and tossed them in the trash. Next day I saw they'd go for $100 on line. DOH.

One reason to leave them on is they act to let the leading spoiler lip ride up and onto something the spoiler might otherwise come into contact with.

While I try to stop just short to avoid running the spoiler over the in this case the sidewalk I'm not always successful. The car is so large/wide my usual technique of using the outside mirror housing and the sidewalk to know how far to pull the car in is not always available to me.

Sadly I have ran my 392 spoiler into a curb/s and they have quite a bit of flex. I do generally back in though.

Makes no sense to me. So your tiny bumper guard may have helped with the tiny area they cover, but what about that HUGE area between my red arrows that also rode up on the sidewalk? DOH!

And that the front tip of the bumper (I think) is the lowest and furthest forward part of the bumper.
I believe the guards were for the specific areas of the car haulers that keep the tires centered when loading/unloading... they are not curb feelers.
Thanks! This reminded me to just order these for my new unit. So I can peel off that ugly yellow POS that looks like a spent condom.

These take care of those minor problems for slight contact with something. They will take the hit and keep on ticking.

I asked this question at the dealer, They are there to protect the spoiler from the tie down straps during shipping. For some reason I like mine, it’s one of the things that first caught my eye about the car driving by the dealers lot. I had no idea they where to be removed until reading on them they where supposed to be removed by the dealer. But I do plan to paint mine GoMango to match the car. After watching that video will be removing them to see what lurks behind them. This car was a garage queen so I’m hopeing spanking clean and I may even leave them off then if I like the look better. To each his own right?? Like the guys with those big gawdy wings on their cars, my boy wants one on his RX8 and I told him when he has his own driveway to park it in he can do whatever he wants but not while it’s parked in mine lol

There's a guy at work that has a B5 5.7 Charger Daytona. The car is always filthy (and that was before the snow started flying), but he still has those damn yellow bumper guards on. I don't know why he's trying to "protect" it when it's always trashed, and I can't imagine how bad the paint is on his car under those things. Maybe he has no idea they were supposed to be removed...
What I love is they literally say "TO BE REMOVED BY DEALER" right on the front of them lol.
What I like is that everybody Bitches about them like little kids on the playground. LOL worth a million.

Exactly what they were for, transport to the dealership.

Whos bitching, they literally cause damage to your spoiler. For those garage queens out there, probably wont make a difference, but for the daily's they can get tore up pretty quick. If you like them, keep them. Like the plastic film around your tv!

I had mine on for about a year before I took them off...
If you clean Them they wont harm anything. That is what is going wrong with our Country today, Is that everybody goes with the crowd.( Politically correct) pier pressure, to the point they let the crowd dictate what they do. People do what ever you want to. Don't ***** at others for doing what they want to. It would be a boring place if everything looked just alike. Hey it might look like the little blue suits that all the Chinese all like to wear. LOL

Or one could say, thats what going wrong with our country. Everybody has to say "Look at me, IM going to run around with stuff that should be in the garbage!!" Again, nobody really cares if you leave em on, but people obviously have an opinion, and that's what forums are for. If you like em, MoPower to ya!

That huge area is raised a bit because of the thickness of the guards. Thus that huge area makes no contact with in this case the sidewalk surface.
Can we at least agree that they are not bumper guards as the certainlly do not guard the bumper?
Mine are staying on until the day that I decided I don't like them on there. I will say that if my cat was another color, they probably wouldn't be on it.

I drove mine home with them on, but the next morning I removed them. For the short time they were on, a lot of debri was as caught underneath. Thankfully, no scratches.
Same here. I was embarrased to even drive home with them on.
They are for shipping only and the dealer is suppose to take them off. The purpose of them is not to protect the splitter for someone who is challenged when parking with a curb stop in front of the car.

Like me and other people here haven’t been saying that would happen all along.
