Had a 2016 Hellcat came in on trade at our dealership...here's a quick video of what happens when they are left on too long...

I see plenty of bumpers really beaten up that don’t have those on. Only solution is a new spoiler and taking your bumper off risking scratching something else in the process.

Can’t win either way.....

I decided to leave mine on the Wide Bodies... doesn’t bother me in the least.( Took them off my 2015 Hellcat after delivery... and didn’t have them on my Chargers now slightly F’ed up bumper LOL)

as many state over and over. The splitter is cheap. So when you decide to remove the yellow covers, (If) it is discolored replace it. Wow that was hard to decide.
Is this really a thing
Paint them black if your going to leave them on
Looks like somebody forgot to finish unwrapping the car
I love those yellow guards...made myself $100 on eBay after I took them off... o_O
Shit! I threw mine away
S0 I actually like the look, and protection they afford . I guess if I ever decide to take them off quick detailer will restore the spoiler's finish in 5 minutes or lesso_O

The driver side was etched, and if it was a Charger, there's no going back since it's paint. I guess Challengers don't have much to worry about other than ridicule

For what it's worth, I had mine painted body color. The car does NOT go out in the snow, does NOT go out in the rain, unless we get caught in the middle of nowhere when a storm rolls through and the main point here is that I am detailing this car at least 3 times a month and on at least one if not two those occasions, the splitter covers come off for the very reason in the video. I would think that basically it's to each his own and how meticulous or careless one is with their vehicles. They DO protect the splitter on Chargers, to that I can attest. I ran up on ONE parking block, and that's it. Every once in a while, here in the wild west of Texas where we don't grate our roads before laying down MORE ASSphalt, I'll have to 45 degree angle an intersection here in the neighborhood due to the extraordinarily high roads compared to the lower water drainage system, and I still get a little scrape here and there.

I have no problem with the way you did it. Makes perfect sense. But just leaving them on, yellow, and never taking them off is kinda dumb.

Been going back and forth on having the splitter guards removed from my Hellcat Challenger. But the other day leaving home the left hand corner of the splitter scraped on the pavement. Had I turned right the right hand corner would have scraped on the pavement. And this scraping happens exiting/entering other driveways too.

I think I'll leave the splitter guards on. While they may be intended just for shipping they keep the rather looking delicate corners of the splitter from getting shredded.

Oh, at a dealer last Saturday talking to a SA about these guards, about having them removed next time I bring the car in. He said there's a guy who owns two Hellcats and this guy has been searching for a set of guards to install. The SA says apparently these can't be ordered all he can do is if an owner has the guards removed and doesn't want them to save them for someone who does want them. The guy with the two Hellcats got the guards he wanted, but he had to wait.

LOL. Hey, my splitter guards ruined my splitter! Time for a new splitter, then I can put my guards back on, so I can ruin it! Rinse and repeat!

Yea I work for a Dodge dealer, you can't order them so they have a certain rare factor to them. As someone posted earlier, the whole splitter is like $70. I'd rather pay that to replace it than ride around with bright yellow guards that don't match anything on the car. Do you guys leave the blue plastic on your appliances too?

As a matter of fact, I have three appliances with the blue plastic on them, in fact the backs of my washer and dryer have it from 1995, AND there is no $70 splitter to buy for a charger, it's a whole front facia.

Hah, I wasn't quoting you. You at least did it the "right way"

No I hear ya, but I'm still curious why people get crap about keeping the blue plastic on appliances....just my curiosity, nothing more....
My plan from day 1 is to find a new OEM front splitter to have when it comes time to pass the car along. I will have to tell my kids where I put it.

Are you actually being serious?

So you leave tags on hats? Plastic on your couches? Plastic on your TVs and Laptops?

Love it. Yes I am. While I see what you're saying about tags on hats, blue plastic on appliances that are NOT moved around and worn, is for protecting the metal (typically metal) and it helps prevent dirt and rust and stains on APPLIANCES, and tvs are not wrapped plastic. As I said, idle curiosity as to what one thing means to another along with GETTING OF TRACK! Lol
It's like not driving your car. People buy these super nice cars and then leave them in a garage. Why? To keep it fresh for the next guy? It's an asthetic thing for me. If I see plastic left on something it looks like crap. So you let it look like crap the whole time you own it, just for the appliance to take a dump eventually, "but the metal is in great shape!" I just don't see the point.

Lol, I hear ya. Just my washer, dryer and Fridge are on 24 years now. Washer and dryer have the plastic on the back and sides, fridge only on the back, microwave on sides and back, water cooler in sides and back. To me it's just protection for the umpteenth time I've moved!
