440 miles dirty and metal flakes all normal brake in. Will make a post on how to change
I always cut my filters open and inspect them (some of my cars are just a cartridge which is even easier). Is there something wrong with me LOL.

I was going to do my first change at 1000. I may move that up to 500. I have the Pennzoil 0W40 SRT oil and the Mopar 041 filter ready. That 041 looks like a Wix. Nice filter. If it's a WIX I wonder if it is the standard or the XP version. I'll cut that open too but it's going to be a while. I'm two cheap to cut open a new one.

Thanks Doc. I'll be acquiring oil and filters ASAP. First oil change for me (~500 miles or less) should be day two or three for me.

Dr. B, what are we looking at there? is that the inside of the filter? What color was the oil?

And yes, a brief writeup with pics would be nice.

Would u also suggest a magnetic drain plug Dr. ?
Others have different views, mine is yes, at the oil pan and also oil cooler. Also rear differential and transmission. Also magnets on the oil filter.

I have different machines (watercraft, motorcycles and other vehicles, cars and trucks) that have oil coolers and I do all those things and generally see particulate build up on the oil drain bolt regardless...

I definitely agree change like Doc recommended, I did saw same. Also doing rear end at 1000 miles for same reasoning.

I specd a oil drain bolt with magnet on another thread, will add the spec for the oil cooler plug with magnet there and others as I find them.

Oil cooler is 12x1.75 1 inch long

Oil pan is 14x1.5 3/4 inch long both from seal to end of plug
